It is quite doable still-in order to attend a gifted youth program at Dyagilev last June, my 11 year old son took a red eye San-Francisco-Newark, the a red eye Newark-Frankfurt-am-Main, Frankfurt-Tallinn. Then taxi to Narva. Then taxi Ivangorod-St. Petersburg, and finally a red eye flight on Pobeda to Perm. Worked great.
