D.I.Y All the Time! Rainbow Roses

Hi everyone, this D.I.Y All the Time! video is going to be a little bit different than most. 3 years ago, I uploaded a video called Pinfact or Fake Rainbow Roses. The video was to test the authenticity of a pin I found on Pinterest, claiming splitting a rose stem and having the rose absorb food coloring would dye result in rainbow roses. Sadly, the pin resulted to be in fact a fake method to create rainbow roses. However, I did receive a handful of comments informing me the proper method to achieve rainbow roses was to use floral dye. Wanting the pin to succeed and genuinely wanting rainbow roses, I decided to give floral dye a chance. Let's begin!

I cut mine about 4 inches and left them overnight wow they are all covered and I used a whole tube of liquid food dye . They are beautiful! The longer you let them set in the dye the better ! I’m doing the long roses next for my bridal shower and me next .

Did you leave them in the dye for 5 days, or only in plain water after the first day of dyeing?

Why not leave a few leaves on so the cutting actually survives longer? Maybe it might pull the colors better.

Seems like you mangled the stems. Make sure you make cleaner cuts so the capillary action of drawing dye flows better.
