Is there a way to tell if the crickets are infected? I got some from Petco to start my farm and I do live down south. But Im not feeding to them except to my mantis eggsac im waiting to hatch, and a young rock spider I found in my house... And to keep for the noise. But its my first setup for breeding and they just started hatching today. The adults all died off soon after laying eggs.

I may have just found out why my crikets die so fast. I am trying to raise them in a terrarium. Temp/w heat pad is 82-83 in the daytime, but only 71-73 at night when the heat pad turns off. The vent is closed at night also and the humidity gets the glass wet on the inside of the tank. Then around 7 AM the vent is opened. This is the first year that I have had a terrarium. It is only in a ten G tank. But the point is/was to see what problems that I would run into. It is supposed to represent a cross between a rain forest and a tropical forest. The terrarium survived it's first year, but I almost let the substraight get completely dry. Caught it just in time to save it. Should I just let the heating pad run all night ? I put 30-40 in there each month and shortly have many pinhead size. By the time they get to 1/4 inch the majority have died. A couple will reach 1/2 inch but that is about the limit. They have water gel in a one gallon milk bottle top which I also fill with my spray bottle each morning. So is there something else which could be killing them ?
