When drilling the holes, after the pilot hole is drilled and just when the hole saw starts to "bite" the pvc, run the drill in reverse - it makes a cleaner hole and if won't twist your arm off.

When you cut your holes, run your drill in reverse, You won't get any binding or kick back. Running in reverse will also give a nice smooth hole.
@sweetness60484 жыл бұрын
handy tip Put sugar syrup on drill for a laser like finish no need to run in reverse sugar syrup does a way better job

Are the fence posts 4" or 5" diameter?
@ThinkSleepLeave6 жыл бұрын
PVC pipes of all types are actually measured by outside diameter. Fittings are measured by inner diameter.

When you use a hole saw that size, 1) drill a pilot hole 2) Then run the hole saw in reverse. Smaller hole saws, like the 1" size wont bite like the larger ones.

Do you think this exact system would be good for Cannabis or are the holes to close together?
@oldfart31377 жыл бұрын
I would think cannabis would grow too large and top heavy, with too thick of a root system for this system.
@timmccalla72987 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not this is a complete copy of General Hydroponics aeroponics systems identical holes just as close I have one and they grow absolutely 4 foot plants in them with no problem The Roots grow down into the tube and anchor itself don't listen to someone who doesn't have one

aren't your holes to close together? I find in my garden tower, when a plant grows tall in towers over other plants and shades them.
@excalibur4409 жыл бұрын
Good comment, The plants in this part of the system are Lettuce and spinach. The grow lights are directly above the plants. The plants are harvested prior to shading being an issue. The larger plants such as Kale, Chard ect are slated for the Dutch buckets.at the back of the system. Thanks again for your observation and comment.

You are paying for it in soil as well. You either need to pay for fertilizer, gather fertilizer, or do composting. There is a time cost with each of them and there is a probably a purchase cost as well.
