dude, I have questions. I have rasberry pi and made a large hydroponic and greenhouse, 8x8 meters. Where did you get all the sensors? Is this all open source that I can use these? I am just starting up and had a lot of failures on the way including getting very sick. I am hoping to get things working.

Hey Kyle have you had issues with your pi and timing? I have heard people saying that arduino keeps timing better than the pi because of the I/o and was wondering your take?

You have multiple skills and talents ranging from mechanical engineering to electrical engineering, to 3d printing, smart agriculture, programming, testing and calibration. I can hardly believe that you can do this all alone. Amazing.
@TheJacklwilliams3 жыл бұрын
It is humbling to be sure but don't forget, all of these skills in detail are available for study on the web. If you are strong enough in any area you can pick up the other skills just by doing. People like Kyle make this possible by sharing the kind of detail he does. That's what blows me away. Anyway, Thanks Kyle! Amazing!

A lot has changed since I was a kid. When I was a kid, all of this was at most, just imagination. Heck, smartphones weren't even a thing when I was a kid. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like for people who are 80-90 years old. The world of their childhood is long dead and gone. Unlike a lot of the older generation, I'm totally for automation and technology. It can really be a huge benefit to humanity, however, I also believe that the old ways of farming should remain, even if just to preserve crop variety.

This is production ready. You covered everything from start to finish of hydroponic. For new hydroponic people I would not recommend watching this video. Only reason is its daunting and seeing one person do all of this might overwhelm someone who is new to it but if you are experienced and have realized how important each of these tools are and how much easier it gets with more automation this is on point. Not just on point I really believe you could refine this to a production ready product if you haven't already. Love it keep up the work you really do have a lot of talent and skill.

after watching this i’ve had the most insane realization my dad, who passed a few years ago, was pretty open with me about him being a complete stoner a couple years before he passed. it was cool ya know whatever. but he grew his own stuff hydroponically( something he had done before i was born). and looking at what he did for work and how it’s 100% translated on how and where to get the material to build a hydroponic system. i’m considering upscaling this idea for a 6x8x7ft greenhouse in my garden. i live in a 8b/9a zone and this year will have 306 days in between frost(crazy on it’s own). i’ve always struggled growing greens in my yard because of my amount of sunlight and downright intense uv. i’ve done more to use high growing plants to help shade my bed but a greenhouse kept hydroponic would be amazing
