Just a word of caution Nick, you may want to check the specks of your roof truss. Bottom chords are not usually designed to handle that kind of load, especially concentrated at 4 points. Stress is going to be high. Just a heads up.

We actually had carpenters come to reinforce the trusses to hold 5000lbs each.

The problem might not be the straps... or the attatchments. The problem might be the ceiling

If you want to up the capacity of the straps just look for some rated for lifting (ie- rigging). At work I regularly lift about 1500 pounds with an overhead crane. The straps are rated at 2500 pounds with their weakest rigging setup (straight line tension). A setup similar to what you have in the video (cradle) has a capacity of somewhere in the 5000 plus pound range. Also, just remember that a falling weight will create force much greater than just the weight in the bar.

Nick. Unless you did some pretty severe reinforcing of your ceiling joists, they won't hold that much weight. Do a little research on drop/shock loads as well. The weight you put on a bar and drop is multiplied many many times. Fortunately, you're not going to be dropping very far, so the acceleration factor is going to be pretty low. Still, with no energy absorber in your system, it's still going to put one hell of a load on your ceiling joists. An example. A 170lb load falling 6 ft and coming to an abrupt stop at the bottom of a non elastic tether generates something on the order of 4100 lbs of force on the tether. I can't remember the exact numbers, but please be careful. There's more happening in a shock loaded system than most people realize. Energy absorbers are used in fall arrest system to massively decrease shock loads. I'm not sure what you could add in there to act as an energy absorber in that particular setup. Just be careful. We want you around for a long time to come. ;)

Maybe talk to someone who is a Shibari rigger as they are experts at well tying folks up and making sure the weight is distributed evenly

Your straps are rated for 5000lbs after your safety factor. Your anchor is rated to 5000 lbs. Your horizontal bottom chord trusses are not rated for that load.

Hate to tell you this Nick. I'm a fighter I've tried hanging a heavy bag like that. When the bag Wiggles or you wiggle you're going to loosen up the screws. strip screws loose!!!!! and it's going to pop down on you!!! DON'T TRUST IT PS IT WORKED FOR 1 2 YEARS.

Power racks don’t work for guys that have to grip the bar out toward the collars. That’s why combo racks and monolifts are adjustable
