Is there a way to prevent the pad from wearing down like that? I have the same pad

Could be the head selection. I have a Drumslinger with a Tendura head and have no issues. I saw a review of the RD Pad and someone said the company was having a few issues with a certain Evans head. Could be this one. Not sure.

I mean, you’re playing on it with sticks. Heads and pads and everything will wear down as you beat on them over and over again.. Short answer: no
