Awesome, I'll try this real soon. I can afford to lose a few friends at my gym.

I used to look down on wristlockers… now I’m old and grey, I need them to survive on the mats! Life comes at you fast.

100%! That's why we started this channel, to help us vintage grapplers gain an advantage against the young bucks. Cheers!

I’ve been on the worse side of this. Guys, no joke. Be careful. This one comes on fast and hard. Very sweet finisher.

Yeah, be nice to your training partners lol. Often with any wristlocks, I like to get in position and then let it go. Just let them know it could have ended there. 😉

@@GrayBeardGrapplers oh 💯. I always hope that goes without saying but you know how it is 😂 this wrist lock changes my entire top guard hand placement.

Now I have to look up kote mawashi! Thanks! And yes, I've seen a few interesting ways to hit that. Cheers!

Seems like a Kote mawashi is more at a 90 degree from the videos I watched. This one is from a 45 degree angle. Not sure if there is a difference for the title or not.

@@GrayBeardGrapplers Kote mawashi translated to English is "wrist turn" and the principle of the technique is rotating the wrist inwards (pronating) fully then bending the wrist towards the pinky so that forearm and hand bones clash. This is what happens in the video. The exact angle isn't important-what describes the technique is the underlying mechanics, like how for example a figure four lock (ude garami in jujutsu and judo) can be done in several different ways but the principle is the same in each case, making them versions of the same technique.

@@GrayBeardGrapplers Oh, IF (and that's a big if) I hit it, I already know it's not going to end well...for me. But being that he loves wristlocks, I can't help but think he'll be proud.
