D-lab Tours electronics Laboratory (elab) Industrial Test Calibration Lab cool vintage equipment

So, for a bit of history, I have worked at several industrial instrumentation labs over a 40 year span. Most have closed or sold to other businesses. Well, a few days ago I received a call from an old workmate. He still works in a facility that I did back around 2000. It is not the same company, but the assets were absorbed and still being used. He told me my lab was still in use, not as organized as it was, but if I'd like to swing over & video it, that was OK! Since everyone is off for the Holiday break, there would not be any resistance. So, I thought what a great opportunity for some video content! It was sad seeing the entire test lab empty, except for the elab. I walked around in silence, remembering the machines and people I worked with. Sorry I was not allowed to show that footage. It makes me realize, that was a chapter in my life that I cant go back to. However, I still have great memories. Sure was nice to be in my old lab. I hope you guys enjoy this tour. TD

I can relate being a mechanic for forty years but y’all were speaking a foreign language during the tour. Sometimes I wished I’d gone this professional route but being color blind kept me from making that move. Thanks for the upload

My uncle worked for Honeywell. He used a buzz box welder to fuse the chromel and alumel wire ends to make a thermocouple.

Cool lab, I use those sierra modems everyday. They are nice but can certainly Be a pain.
