D-Low recommended putting your tongue near the opening at the side of your lips (This helped me figure it out back when I was still learning it) It helps to get the vibrations with less effort, and later you can start drawing your tongue back to get more bass.

After 45 tutorials and 138 hours of practice, I kind of got the lip roll down while watching this video. Tip: Focus on the position and movement. How fast or powerful you want to do it doesn't matter too much. Position and movement is key. I watched this video at 20% speed.

This might help, might not but I learned with shift your bottom lip to whatever side you choose and kind of closing it tightly there(but not too tight), making sure to keep the other side loose. I sort of tighten half of my mouth while the other side is loose. Your jaw kind of just ends up on the tight side shift the bottom lip. You pull the looser lips apart along with your jaw while keeping your mouth closed and hopefully get a rolly sound. Bring your jaw down more for the more accurate sound. Hopefully, that helps somewhat.

Syth 😂 That’s just the way his liprolls go. Codfish and Napom are the same. The side of their lips tend to make bigger flaps than normal, possibly due to their extensive use in it or it’s genetics. My liprolls produces that same sound as D-Lows but it doesn’t flap as much, so the flapping effect is not that important. Take Beatness for example, he has one of the cleanest liproll basses but his lip flaps are less noticeable

Got my first liproll yesterday, thanks mainly to the way you explain the lip positioning. Other tutorials approach it differently, and even if they provide important information and nice advice as well (hello TylaDubya, RubikBBX), your point of view helped me a lot so thank you! Watched this, Tyla Dubya, 80Fitz, Rubik and I still can't nail this! I make one long constant inhalation and try to find the lip position, i probably hit it once in every 100 tries but I cant seem to get consistent with it. I feel like I have a reasonable lip oscillation and that should be helping me to get the lip roll but i'm finding it so bloody difficult! Never the less, I will persevere! 👍

duuuuuude I think i figured it out I had the same problem that you did(and still do) but I found out the reason why is because I have small thin lips whenever i tried to do something, it would sound like a fart try the inward lip bass first use your finger to stretch your lip roll side If you use enough power, you can manage to make some oscillating effect on your llips. stretch it a little horizontally so it's a little longer.
