Great recording environment. It would seem this Marantz B&W combo has really good synergy. Haven't listened to the 803 d4 and some reviews say they have plenty of treble energy, but Marantz is much more mellow (my SC-11S1 certainly is a bit more polite than I'd like tbh) sounding than comparable preamps. Would love to get my hands on the SC-7S2 and/or MA-9S2. If I found either of these before I have the funds to get these 803d4 I might just have to pull the trigger! 😜 Wonderful video, and if I knew how to speak Japanese I bet I'd have an even greater appreciation of it!

I’ve own the 805 d3 I’ve auditioned the d4 I’d say there is 10-13% improvement in parts of the sonic character. If you have the d3 I don’t think it’s worth the 8500 upgrade cost. If you’re coming from the d2 or earlier it may be.
