Don't worry about the way the track stopped abruptly. Everything is fine. haha i'm so clever because that's the name of the next track on the album and it's insane

Wax wings was quickly my favourite off the new album for a long time. It’s so melodic and hard to get the vocal hooks out of your head. Also, the ending is the most beautiful moment in the album for me

According to Spencer (the vocalist), this is the hardest song to sing live. They really have to think through the setlist so that the throat/vocal chords are warmed up but not tired 😊

This is one of those bands that gets better each time you hear the song.

I guarantee they would love “It only smiles” by periphery. A very chill song and it’s incredibly emotional. That song brings me tears all the time, so does this one though lol.

Periphery has a bunch of chill songs.. not sure what that commenter was talking about.. lol
@lasagnasux49343 ай бұрын
Yeah, for real. Like, that's the periphery method: chill songs with epic melodies, or heavy songs that turn chill halfway through. Obviously not all the songs do that, but that's most of their catalogue.
Definitely They definitely have a main thing they do but they also hit a ton of different genres and vibes especially
@clintbeastwood51163 ай бұрын
Depending on what you're looking for from Periphery, I would recommend either Lune or Mile Zero next from them. Both are incredibly emotional songs that show off Spencer's vocals a ton.

I firmly believe lune is a love song to the fans from Spencer. Absolutely one of their most emotional songs, if not the most.

Not sure if they used an actual orchestra on this Album. But, on P3 they hired and recorded an actual orchestra for backing tracks. You'd see it in "The Making" video of the album here in KZbin.

I mean if you guys want to try out one that’s definitely heavier you could try “Wildfire”. I personally don’t like their super heavy songs as much but that’s one of my favorites.

6:48 you were making a great point about the change in the music. Progressive music, which this very much is, doesn't care to repeat itself the same way it played something before. It's keeping you interested by changing it up and not taking the expected turns a traditional song would. And as this song proves my point, be sure to check out some more of their work. Milder or more approachable might be songs like _It's Only Smiles_ , _Absolomb_ , _Dying Star_ , _Thanks Nobuo_ and _Catch Fire_ while not being extreme in any sense but don't hesitate to pick a heavier song, they always make it worth your while. edit after watching the ending remarks ;) >>> all parts are written by band members, but they do collaborate with actual classical musicians and vocalists for the albums (at least from P3 on). On the early records, they are most likely programmed. They make a documentary on most if not all major record releases right here on their KZbin channel, in case you're interested.

personally, I think this is good. Get them into the style first and then blast them after they are hooked. Easing people into heavy stuff is usually the best course if they aren't predisposed to enjoying it initially.

6:37 the part you are referring to is 3:48 cause I distinctly remember see your reaction 😂 that’s a key change (the drop lower), also there is a time signature change, which is why it sounds so weird. Slap some polyrhythm onto it and you’ve got what everyone loves about these bands, the fact that you never know what’s coming, and that it takes sometimes several listens to even figure out what’s going on, and each time you listen, you pick up something new. It’s addicting!

YOOO ANDREA'S SHIRT IS SO CUTE WHERE DID SHE GET THAT. I wish I didn't already have a ghost tattoo cause I would totally get a cute little ghost holding a pumpkin balloon but anywayyy this song was kinda cool, they are just too dang long. Usually I don't mind long songs but I feel like with this band in particular I end up being so bored, like I was skipping ahead a few times and I was still relieved when Dallas paused it cause I couldn't take it anymore lolI try not to skip ahead in y'all's videos cause I want to make sure this goofy website knows that you ladies are the best and that people watch your videos all the way through but even I have my limits 🤪 OMG ALSO can I just say that everyone needs a friend like Dallas in their life. Almost had me tearing up when Andrea did her little thing when she starts stuttering/forgetting what she was trying to say and Dallas pulls up with the reassuring "it's okay" and was waiting patiently for her to keep trying, like come on nowwww, homie really said "it's alright" that's so dang sweet 😭 you guys are seriously the two nicest people on the planet and I can't get enough of it. oh and I decided that the dude's voice throws me off a little because it sounds like he needs to blow his nose.
