Regine Velasque-Alcasid is a veteran power vocalist in the Philippines who has been an inspiration to many current generation power vocalists like Morisette and Katrina Velarde. This song as covered by Regine has been like the yardstick version of many of the female singers. But the actual original version of this song is in a male voice, sung by veteran balladeer, Nonoy Zuniga. It is a good version too. Katrina Velarde also has a recent performance of this song with the arrangement of Troy Laureta, also worth reacting to. Now that you have listened to Regine, try to listen to Marcelito Pomoy sing one of her songs entitled 'Narito Ako' which you can also find on Wishbus and see if he got the voice close to that of Regine's.

@josephramos3140 This song was written by Ryan Cayabyab, a National Artist of the Philippines. Regine's husband is Ogie Alcasid and Regine has sung MANY of songs written by him, but this isn't written by her husband.

As other have commented and will comment - Regine has a couple of nicknames: "Asia's Songbird" and "Queen Regine." Filipino singers have been looking up to her and trying to emulate her for decades. I highly recommend that you check out more of Regine's performances!!! There are tons of great performances, but one that is sure to blow you away is Regine singing "What Kind of Fool Am I" from her 20th anniversary concert TWENTY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKmckpePi66hbLMsi=ekLRkLPODlJXwZ2I You mentioned Regine having a Disney voice. Another favorite Filipino singer of mine is Lea Salonga and she is a TRUE Disney Princess: the singing voices of Jasmine ("A Whole New World") and Mulan ("Reflection"). Lea is also widely known for her stage credits having originated the lead role of Kim in MISS SAIGON in London and on Broadway and winning every major theater award for her performances. Regine has done the best version of "What Kind of Fool Am I" that I've ever heard(the one in the red dress). Fun fact, she was a judge on The Voice Philippines when Mori auditioned and did not turn for her. in her defense, Mori was not good. She was lucky that one of the judges did turn so that she could get the coaching that helped make her into what we hear today.
