Just an FYI, Anders Friden is the vocalist of In Flames, a Swedish metal band (VOLA is Swedish too) that was huge in the 90's and they're a band that has influenced a lot of modern metal, especially metalcore/prog metal adjacent bands. They're still active now but their sound has shifted around over the decades. I have a personal soft spot for their Sounds of a Playground Fading album but most people like their earlier stuff the most.

In flames was one of my gateway bands into metal. They will always have a special place in my heart! They're worth checking out :) They are very melodic and Björn is one of my all time favorite guitarists. Only for the weak, Zombie inc, Evil in a closet or quite place is just a small handful of great songs by them! :)

Making your first exposure to VOLA one with a feature as prominent as this one is risky since it might mess with your expectations for future reactions to this band, but I love it regardless lol this is one of those bands that I’ve definitely went through an obsessive phase with where it was all I listened to for a few weeks straight 😭 the vocalist’s voice is so unique and I love the keyboard or whatever instrument they use that gives it the electronic type vibes. Their upcoming album is probably the one I’ve been looking forward to the most this year; it’s going to be so sick. They totally deserve the certified banger label!
