I'M FLOATING. VOLA - Friend Of A Phantom | Full Album REACTION!

This album is the perfect blend of Applause Of A Distant Crowd & Witness. You have the heavy prog bangers like Cannibal, Break My Lying Tongue, Paper Wolf, Hollow Kid, Bleed Out which could be off Witness. Then the beautiful melodic songs like We Will Not Disband, Glass Mannequin, I Don't Know How We Got Here & Tray that could be off Applause. This album really grew on me after 2-3 listens. I love every song and I would say it's probably my AOTY for prog metal unless something else comes along by the end of 2024

I hear a ton of Inmazes I’m ngl in songs like We Will Not Disband and Hollow Kid. Tray and Glass Mannequin are straight Applause. Bleed Out, Cannibal, Break My Lying Tongue feel more like Witness.

I guess In Flames is a dad band now, but man, Clayman, The Jester's Race, Forgone, Whoracle, banger albums. This is a band that changed their style and stuck with it for most of their discography (metalcore). They were still somewhat melodeath but yeah they changed big time and were popping out the worst albums, 2006 to 2019. Thank God Foregone was good lmao

You gotta check the most recent The Contortionist album in 2018. One of the best prog metal records in recent years. So emotional. A lot of synth.
