I know Charlie has been great with so many genre, but this is his element so is Doris This is honestly the perfect duet, their voice kind of weaved through each other to the point you almost can't tell there's 2 different singers. The lyrics is also so beautiful, very poetic and profound. The big fish can be interpreted in so many ways, I think if it's not about a loved one, it can also be about yourself, about your true self that hasn't been set free. I imagine Charlie's voice is this metaphorical fish in this dream and Doris is the person having this dream. And as the fish wings grew bigger and finally transform their voices weaved through each other as if becoming one. Honestly I don't know why this rendition hasn't been that big of a hit. I would think people would want to them to duet this song together again. I mean they are both more experienced now, especially Charlie, but I'm sure Doris has also improved. I hope one day, they did another cover properly, or just release a proper single of this duet. This may be Charlie's song and honestly, even though as far as song interpretation goes they are pretty similar, I really can't pick which one I like more. Charlie is more ethereal because of his more whispery tone, but Doris sound more grounded and clear with an almost speech like tone, but at the same time also airy and light.
