A lovely line that should never have been closed. Wonderful bucolic walks can be had along parts of the old line.

I've quite the obsession with this line as I live quite close to where it used to run and have walked a lot of it. I've been searching in vain for footage of it in use so thank you for this upload.

walked along from Churn to Didcot.. fantastic cutting just before Upton. I needed a machete though even though it's still February.

Thanks for posting, my grandfather on my mother's side was a driver on this line, and have just found out on my father's side our family goes back to the 1700s in Hampstead Norris.

Lots of families called Hicks lived in Didcot, back in the day. When a child I lived in Compton, and regularly rode the footplate northwards - not possible today!

Someone has just 'upticked' me - you must be from Berkshire (as was!).
