Touhou Makukasai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival is a fan-made Touhou danmaku game designed by STARX from the Touhou Chinese Community. The game is similar to that of the official games with the usual 7 stage format (6 stages + Extra). There are a total of 4 playable characters in this game as well, which are Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Sanae Kochiya, and Patchouli Knowledge.
There is no particular gimmick that I can see here aside from the combo meter located at the bottom-left corner. The combo meter is essentially another way to auto collect items on the screen. As such, auto-collection is activated upon filling up the combo meter.
Personally, the game certainly does very well in its overall presentation, in terms of visual, art, and music. The spellcards are rather interesting and flashy, and the music is incredibly well-done (imo. I just love the Chinese-esque feeling from these tracks). Needless to say, I can definitely see myself going back to this game from time to time.
Also to say, Patchouli literally wrecks the stage with her powerful charge shots, but I suppose its to compensate for her incredibly slow movement speed.
Also, Remi working her danmaku magic from her throne. Really classy ~

Whoa. The production values here are through the roof. Character portraits, player & enemy sprites and stage backgrounds all look fantastic. The music is mostly great (the Cirno remix sounds off to me). I love how fancy the boss life bar looks, and how this game is the first to my knowledge to solve the long standing issue of player vs boss sprite scale (no longer fighting giants at last). Thank you for making me aware of this!

This looks awesome. Really like the little touches the characters have in their fighting style (stage 3 and up). And the Rumia stand-in wasn't bad either, playing more with the Darkness part of her ability. That Stage 6 spell looks nasty. Like how China close in to attack, the creepy Halloween thing Koakuma has going for her (that smile spell...), Sakuya's taking her street magician moniker and running with it, and Remilia's classiness. Can't wait to see how Flan (if she is the Exboss) is handled.

Rumia's "stand-in" Not Rumia perse, but definately inspired by the fan-concept of Ex-Rumia and from the looks of it possesses the same power over darkness that Rumia has. Although, who knows? Maybe the dialogue is saying that Nix is actually Rumia...

Koakuma's stage 4 boss theme is my favorite here. Sakuya's spellcards are so mind-blowing that I think changing bullet types and time-stop-graphic and they will be more like Reisen's spellcards. Honestly, Nix's stage 6 midboss spellcard becomes one of my favorites immediately. It's a real life "wow". WHAT IS THAT REMILIA? Is this Touhouvania!? And the first spellcard doesn't help at all! And what's with the survival spellcard? Is it Remilia stalker: Survival version? And omg the laser core follows you!? In the end I love that "Enough Remi Imma Royal flare'd you".

I quite like the music for this fangame, and I'm really digging Koakuma's theme. Patchy does seem to wreck face, though. I guess she works like a slow TD Youmu that is still able to fire when focused. Also better range and it looks like you don't even need to stop focusing.

I loved koakuma's theme *.* I wanted to play but when i dowload, the game comes with a problem where some spellcards are extremely quick

hey there, just started to play around with danmaku festival. i got a question: how do i shoot the fireball barrage with patchouli? i only figured out how to shoot the laser :/

Help! I downloaded the 1.03 patch w/ dlc update. For some reason certain enemy lasers are faster than normal laser pace. How can I fix it?

The later stages feel like PDD Lunatic in difficulty... but the game looks amazing and the attacks are wonderfully made.

You can say that the author lacked originality by using the characters from Eosd... but check those goddamn orgasmic spellcards! I could stare at them for days and still be amazed :I

Looked like a very good fangame until the giant machinery was used at the end. I can see this being appropriate with the Kappa, but with the Scarlet Devil crew it seems way off from the canon. Really killed my appreciation. It's also following the standard of most other danmaku games: there's giant machine at the end. This makes it seem cliché to me as well.

I think it's too bad that they replaced patchouli by Koakuma. Rin Satsuki would have been great. But the game seems to be really enjoyable anyway

Rodrigo Gomes I know that i'm probably late, but I fixed that bug with the Locale Switch. Just download it from this site: bbs.sumisora.org/read.php?tid=10932331 Then open the software, choose the executable from the game folder and trade the language to (zn-ch).

This basically a EOSD remake with an more modern (SA) engine. And I would of let Remilia sucker punch me too, cause that Throne Mech was just nuts.

Lol at you guys, you couldn't have played much touhou if you think this is too hard for normal. I think the difficulty was pretty okay, but I was kind of underwhelmed by the lack of originality. Only one original character and even she resembles Rumia?!
