In this picture, a different item each representing the major members of the scarlet devil mansion are attached to the cross shaped grave. You can see remilia's bonnet scarf, sakuya's pocket watch, meiling's beret and patchouli's moon shaped pin. Also, yuyuko's death butterfly can be seen flying around. Flandre also seems older in this picture so this could mean that everyone around her died before she did. She is the only one left all alone in the mansion and she seems to be mourning their deaths. I love this picture because it gives me the feeling that Flandre is about to destroy everything soon as life without her loved ones is almost as good as none.

I love that girls centennial festival is incorporated into this :,) combining all of Zun's melodies for that character really seems to kick the entire piece up a notch and bring out what his overall picture of the character's supposed to be; and mixing and matching them between characters really brings out their settings

i just love the image, i can deduct all the other members of the mansion are dead, except flandre, you can see patchouli's moons, remilia's ribbon, and the two tombs right in the back are shown to have blue and green items, which i'm pretty sure symbolise sakuya and meiling... also yuyuko's butterflies are hanging there, so death is around. i imagine a situation in which every member tried to protect flandre from a newcomer to the mansion, but this newcomer wasd too strong and killed everyone in there... but forgot the smallest sister, who ended up killing him/her

When I first saw this, I immediately thought of flandre thinking about her mother / father and sitting next to him/her’s grave, with the ribbon as an accessory from remilia, and a butterfly that came naturally on top ( because pink butterflies symbolize death, and, well, it’s a grave ).

Don't feel too bad. Remilia frequently feeds on innocent humans (killing them) who just happen to phase through the Gensokyo barrier, and the others are are either accomplices or enablers. Flandre's probably the least guilty one there (aside from Meiling, perhaps).

@@hannahbg1852 1. Remilia is forbidden by the rules of Gensokyo to feed on the residents of the Human Village, leaving only outsider humans and Spell Card users on the menu. 2. Every time you interact with her, she mainly portrays a haughty fight-first-ask-questions-later attitude with just about everyone. 3. Sakuya outright admits that it is her job to catch humans for her mistress to feed on, and she makes no statements (as far as I am aware) that they are released alive afterwards. Please do inform me if you have any canon sources/references for Remilia's relative innocence however! ;)
