Rewatching all of MinusT's videos since the release of the SA one, and honestly I keep thinking this one is one of the best. Not only because it is technically amazing, but also because it is wonderfully scenarised, how theatral it is. It's not simply two characters fighting and shooting stuff at each other. The way MinusT transformed the fact it is indoor (so in a confined space), which could have been a weakness, into a strength by using different locations, and making a real story around it with a real dramatisation is amazing. Besides, the portrayal of Flandre is just perfect. Even without voices, it clearly is visible how much of a game it is to her, and how much fun she's having. Especially in the last scene after she is "defeated". I know the games, I know how their dialogue goes and how Flandre and Marisa's relationship is. But even if I didn't, both of their facial expressions and motions make them so endearing and you can see on Flandre face an expression that means "no one ever comes to play with me, I feel a little lonely" and suddenly her face brightens up when Marisa acts like "well, then I promise I'll come back to play with you some time". I'm sorry that this ended up being quite long-winded, but seriously, all I want to say is MinusT is a genius and all his works are masterpieces. (apologies if it all sounded a bit shaky, english is still a bit confused to me when it comes to expressing my feelings and thoughts ^^")

I agree with you completely... Not only is this one an amazing display of his technical virtuosity, it also has that human element to it where the characters feel so real, almost realer than real life. And there is a wonderful sense of joy in their play. I think that kind of divine playfulness is the primary reason all of us enjoy Touhou and enjoy these videos. The series reminds us how wonderful life can be when we exist in the moment and appreciate it in each instant, with our every action being in concordance with present time, rather than seeking a result in the future. It's like music, in that way--the point of it is to enjoy it in the moment, and to dance with it, not to end it so you can have a better song. So much of our lives--and so many other games--are focused almost solely on end results, on "getting something," whether it be leveling up or getting items or gear, or getting money, or reaching some more satisfactory state of affairs than the one we're in. Touhou exemplifies an alternative to this, where living in the present fully and appreciating the simple joy and beauty of the dance is the point. You can see this kind of playfulness in most of the dialogue in the games, but this encounter between Flandre and Marisa puts it front and center. It reminds us that it's a wonderful thing just to be alive, and to be able to experience art like this!

I love this entire video, not just because of the looks, but because it stays true to the actual fight in EoSD. In the beginning Flandre uses a coin, in the game, they were talking about one coin to play and stuff like that. Flandre uses her spellcards, Marisa uses her bomb abilities. The fight takes place INSIDE the mansion. It takes a very memorable 2D fight and makes it 3D, making it so much more awesome. Nice job, and kudos to you!

I love how Marisa and Flandre saved eachother from the collapsing debris. Really goes to show that the latter isn't some LOLEDGYPSYCHOPATH that the fandom makes her out to be, while the experience of being locked up for more than a hundred years could psychologically damage someone, Flandre could just have exploded the player's characters here and there if she was actually trying to kill them.

***** Not entirely true, Sakuya has to start time to actually do anything. ZUN has confirmed that Sakuya stabbing a person while time is stopped would be as effective as if she stabbed a boulder. Since the particles are frozen they can't be cut apart. Yuyuko's ability doesn't work QUITE like that, she actually uses that ability in IN if you unlock her Last Word. Needless to say that clearly shows that even that ability can be avoided. Also note that in Fantasy Heaven Reimu literally floats away from reality and becomes untouchable by any means while still able to attack, rendering her invulnerable to anybody by any means. (Except maybe Yukari who could manipulate the boundary between reality and fantasy to either go to Reimu or force Reimu back to reality) The spellcard notes for Fantasy Heaven in IN confirm this "Supreme Master-Arts by any means. With Reimu's ability to float, she floats from everything in reality and becomes invincible. If it wasn't just for play (with time limit), no one could beat her with any method."

I can't stop thinking about fireworks everytime I watch this...lol. If only real life was this colorful. The technology embedded into their techniques were also a nice touch. Made the whole spectacle that much more characterized and unique. I do hope you come up with something like that for the other characters as well, minusT. Its like making RWBY weapons, except for Touhou.

Boosted Lúcio I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that ZUN doesn't look at touhou fandom stuff (the good ones) like fangames, fananimes, fanmangas, fananimations etc, coz he feels slightly jealous at the talent by the creators. So, he glances at them long enough to understand it then slowly move on. Again, not 100% sure abt this...

What I like about this animation is the fact that it’s not voiced at all. Sometimes the less is more approach is more effective for storytelling, as the actions and nuances of the fights speak for themselves louder than words. The display of both characters strengths aren’t interrupted by diversions of their focus and is more immersive because theatre of the mind allows the filling in of the gaps here. It allows the music itself to become the conversation between both Flandre and Marisa as it takes centre stage. 10/10 Stunning Animation.

I've been watching this video over and over since at least 7 years and it's still amazing! The atmosphere dramatically changed when Closed Room and Stars plays, the pace, the mood, the terror, the fun and the rivalry. Dang even it got Love Colored Master Spark notes at the climax that fits perfectly with the video.

"Ripples of 495 Years" Welp, I think there are some Nonspells that are missing (they seems like the same so, no problem). Nonspell 6 bugged me a little, it is blue, not red (but its essencialy the same). As said, any help and comments are welcome. Thank you.
