I find it awesome that ZUN brought back those side laser things that you see at about 0:44. Those giant hill-like laser waves are also used in one of Sanae's spellcards. So 5 games (plus IaMP and StB) later, ZUN still remembers his old stuff.

very well played. watching this game made me realize that I don't really have an idea about the older touhou games. imperishable night was the first one to massacre serious amounts of braincells with. the music is totally epic, gotta lay hands on those as well

Suika and Reimu actually use something similar to that last attack in Concealed the Conclusion. Reference maybe? Well this version went A LOT faster though, probably the "fastest" attack in Touhou I have ever seen. Good job.

PC-98's design makes it able to stand even with the Windows series despite using fewer bullets. Still, this is the only game that's got a lunatic as hard as the Windows series.

Funnily enough, there's actually an attack used by Mai in stage 4 that is the ancestor of Icicle Fall. It can even be dodged by getting up in her face just like Icicle Fall easy, except this works even on lunatic. XD

Actually I think Alice's end attack return as hers second (or thirth?) non-SP at Perfect Cherry Blossom, the one with blue and red bullets.

@TheInker it's actually a lot harder than it looks. first of all, the bullets are a lot faster in the pc-98 games, and secondly, you don't have the features we take for granted in the windows games (like the enemy position at the bottom of the screen or the hitbox display)

Depends. I've never played Battletoads, but it sounds damn difficult. This series is hard for sure, but it's something that merely takes a lot of dexterity and skill to play, as opposed to the cheapness of old NES games. Like, I've beaten this game on the highest difficulty level, but haven't beaten Ninja Gaiden.

@TARDISES The lasers you're referring to in PCB may curve, but they lack the homing properties that the ones used in MS have. MS's homing lasers don't simply curve, they actively turn towards you even as they're moving forward, so you have to circle around them .

@xxYakumoYukarixx Those things were nightmarish, but given that they aim at you, I feel they're slightly easier to dodge than Byakuren's modern-variety curvy lasers by some degree. These ones are wicked, though.
