To be fair...here was the scenario: The band had an 'official' gig the next day in the town square. The gentleman who had organized the gig was an old friend of the band's. He asked if they wouldn't mind doing a set at his favorite pub, which the band happily agreed to do... So the people who were there had not come to see a band specifically. And the backyard was all tables & chairs so it was set up to be a sit-down affair. That said, it was one of my favorite of their gigs.

One of the best JBC tunes. Ever. Sonically, a treat and a half. Visually...

As with all the greatest musical debates, such as whether Weird Al's "Yoda" should be performed on accordian (of course!) or a guitar (revisionists!), we now must contend with whether D.R.I.N.K. should be performed with or without the kazoos. You should know that I'm for 100% them. :)

Also love the waitress getting into it, there in the middle.... Truly an artist among the Philistines... :)

Thanks for posting this. I went to UCSB from '87 - '91 and this was usually the last song we listened to before passing out. Brings back great memories. Thanks again.

My housemate Hans Ritter a D.J. at KUCB dedicated this one to me on my birthday many years ago when we lived together out in Boulder. I never understood why... I traded Hans a Wicked Fat Chance (a bicycle built by a guy named Chris Chance for his uncle's '62 sunburst Strat. A real '62 Strat. I left Boulder with neither. Ugh...

Why would you stand? That is like the people who stand at a Spacemen 3 concert! Sit down and enjoy!

Perhaps the simpler answer to "Who are these people" would be "Belgians".
