Great video I took a Wilderness track out of Salida Colorado back in 2012 and went white water rafting down Brown Canyon on the Arkansas River the tracks are still in place our guy told me that it's a standby route for emergency if they needed to move troop trains but that's just what I heard

HeyTT Tennessee Pass There is HOPE!!! Nov. 2019; Colorado Pacific Railroad is offering Union Pacific $10 million for 170 miles of its Tennessee Pass Line, running from Parkdale near the Royal Gorge through the lower Vail Valley to Dotsero. As of Dec 2019 the only west side recent Tennessee Pass rail line traffic is a train that runs to the American Gypsum wallboard manufacturing plant in Gypsum. The east side track above Parkdale over the pass to Dotsero is still owned by the UP. The track operated by Rock and Rail between Parkdale and Cañon City is still owned by the UP, while the track between Pueblo and Cañon City was purchased from the UP. The tourist line Cañon City and Royal Gorge Railroad operates on Rock and Rail (RRRR) short line section between Parkdale and Cañon City the RRRR's track is a subsidiary of Martin Marietta Materials.

They wont be moving trains like this even if they finally get the line rehabbed before the nimbys throw another legal injunction on them. Not many if any crews left with train handling experience on 3+ percent grades. Before UP came on the scene the SP crews had two get away from them. Best they could do is pony up the money and hire some with experience from the Tehachapi area or out of NS mountain territory that understand the situation. Just my opinion!

Just when SP was taking orders of ge AC4000CWs for THIS type of haul but you can't beat the pure sound of 645s rumble through the mountains and Rockies. (I'm not from Utah but from Arkansas 😊 where the SP/SSW ran wild through Pine Bluff now it's all "U"Pewter n banana)

That looks like a solid train of BN cars.
