Micromissile tip: If you're in a situation where you can't take much more damage but can finish off an opponent then you can shoot missiles while using defense matrix at the same time

Why are people acting shocked, there's nothing intuitively obvious that would make a player think it's anything more than a shield ability directly in front of the player. The game doesn't teach you these things.

Great tips! Another tip I think is worth noting is the use of micro-missiles while defense matrix is on. This is great especially in close quarters with squishies like McCree/Soldier since you're complete invulnerable to their bullets but you're still doing damaging to them.

Tell a QP D.Va that she can use DM to protect teammates too and she'll be masters in one match.

@@Matobit One thing that Yeatle failed to mention was the importance of peel. Peeling is being able to keep track of your squishy teammates and being able to fall back for them in case they're being targeted. Dva is one such hero that is one of the best at peeling for her team. If you want to improve your playstyle as Dva, you have to learn how to peel. After learning this myself, I realized just how many times I would've lost a team fight if I had let one of our dps or support die because I wasnt paying attention to them. While doing this, you should also balance peeling with being aggressive. Combining all of this and learning on my own has easily gotten me up 500 sr in less than a week. If you're really serious about improving, I would also watch some peeling guides.

The most important advise against Zaria is getting super close and shooting her head. Dva is zaria’a hard counter if she is below 60% energy and you are head shooting. It’s just 7 rounds if you are shooting head. Otherwise it will be 20 rounds body shooting and you will lose your mech. Same thing against hog, you will be hard counter as soon as you have decent head tracking.

"You don't need to spend hours in a custom game to learn set bombs" But you COULD-Workshop code: BBSSO by Oddish and LazyLion, learn the radius and damage dropoffs. Good to learn basic bombs too, and test wall-slides. "You don't need to have a 6-man rotation every time" You mean...all the times I've been waiting for a player to go into left room on anubis attack was wasted? You mean I should've helped my team not die and actually push? inspirational. I'm getting out of silver(no really, it helped). And for grav's, a really general tip is to play zarya, Then learn if your team looks like a tasty grav. and watch his grav vs matrix video.

after so long...a dva guide from a top player....but its a ball player sadge. lol I've been settling down into off tanks after 2 years on inconsistent mains, back to my first main, dva. glad there's a guide that isnt outdated. upgrading from 5fps soon, and dva is very hard to play with low frames, along with her mech sucking up some more. (different skins have different fps).
