I love when the drummer calls out, at about 2:40. There is so much to like about this performance and this music. But I'll choose to comment on this that strikes me, and seems so obvious now in the saying. A lot of the music I've listened to over the years has a very small proportion of female audience. You know, prog, of course, and guitar music like holdsworth and wayne krantz. I was just at one of Wayne's shows, almost all men in the audience, a few female companions "dragged along". Look at this crowd - a lovely diverse crowd of folks just digging it, even when it gets intense, young women out there grooving to it. I mean obviously, here's a female front musician, great player, so there's the identification aspect, even to the point of, I (female audience member) hear the music I recognize as my inner voice. Anyway it makes me happy that this is happening. Remember when Sly Stone brought a diverse band together, and everybody dug it (and if you don't check it out someday)

"Midway" almost, in an alternate universe, reminds me of Yes if Howe, Bruford, and Squire had a trio - spikey, jazzy, Howe chords with a bass line Squire would have loved. That drumming sounds like a young Billy Bruford crossed with Stewart Copland with ADD. So very awesome...

It's so sad that I live in Mexico where no ones cherish this music. I got no one to share the passion this is able to transmit. People always question me why I like these genres if they can't be danced, and they are right, because they are not meant to be danced. They are meant to be FELT.
@mollofistraye51642 жыл бұрын
i simply disagree that this cannot be danced to. where there's music, there's dance. isn't that what dance is about? using movement to express what you feel when listening to music? sure it isn't tailored for dance, but that never stopped anyone from being creative and finding ways to dance anyways. if you listen to something and stop yourself from even trying to dance to it, then you are limiting yourself to the wonderful nuances and infinite possibilities of dance.
