floor on the ur cancel is lower than standard cancel, since there are situations where gaining control of the spell is worse than countering. includes blood moon effects, removal when board is empty, wraths, some prison pieces, dash ragavan, living end. Also even the success case of getting a permanent may risk oppo bouncing card back to hand by some means to get value (there is also a certain dog that would even put the card back into play) overrall too much variance. someone is going to spike something sweet with it. that same person will eventually lose to paying 3 mana to discard a card from their hand and do nothing too

Why not play Otherworldy Gaze? It can bin 3 cards you want to bin and scries/surveils 3, if you do it on your upkeep you basically get to surveil and choose what card you want to draw and bin the others for Murktide/Phoenix/DRC it seems insanely good, you can make a 7/7 Murktide on turn 2 with it with the right hand, can also help you stop flooding on lands

Yeah not sure on that. Kinda just acts as a fifth Phoenix but maybe there should be blue sources and Preordains
