"When Ronnie died you was right by my side" Em didn't meet Royce until like, 97. Ronnie died in 1991. Maybe the undertones of the song could be about Royce. But I do think it's more inspired by the time between 1998-1999 when Eminem first got signed. If you go back, Em hadn't been in Detroit for a while around that time. He was in New York, L.A etc. I remember seeing an interview with Bizarre from years ago saying that he hadn't seen Em for months, they didn't think he was coming back. So to me, the song just sounds more like the friendship between all members of D12 and their history.
