*-Decided to write up the Subaru STI pedal installation-* *The accelerator pedal installation:* - Subaru STI Accelerator Pedal P/N: *36024FA001* - I personally recommend that you go to the junkyard and grab an accelerator pedal assembly from any 90's or early 00's Subaru. It can be auto or manual, doesn't matter. It's a few dollars and you can reuse the spring and compression pin from it. Once you have the Subaru pedal assembly, you take out your D21 pedal assembly, put them side by side and locate where you need to drill the new hole to mount the new pedal. You'll need to cut off a little piece of metal that used to hold the D21 pedal; Dremel works great. Once you have it located, you just use a punch, then drill with whatever bit that snugly fits in the Subaru pin hole. Install everything. Viola, that's done! *If you want new hardware:* - Subaru Accelerator Pedal Return Spring P/N: *36037AA060* - Subaru Accelerator Pedal Compression Pin P/N: *051905322* *The clutch & brake pedal installation:* - Subaru STI Brake/Clutch Pedal P/N: *36024FA010* - *Note* The STI brake and clutch pedals are just pedal covers from the factory. - *Option 1* You just remove your old black plastic covers, trim the sides of your D21 steel pedals down just a hair [the width of a Sharpie mark on both sides works] and slide them on. You don't need to remove the pedal assembly at all. They will be on EXTREMELY tight, but you can also add a contact cement if you're worried about it, and they will never come off. Lol - *Option 2* You can get a clutch and brake pedal assembly from any 90's or early 00's Subaru, cut off the steel pedal pads and cut off the D21 steel pedal pads, then weld the Subaru pads to the D21 pedal assembly and slide on the STI pedal covers. REALLY overkill, and a TON of work, but an option. *Hopefully this will help someone out there. Cheers!*

You are doing good and I like that you are doing a D21 which there is no easy path to follow and that your build is going to be as new when done. I had trouble contacting the manufacturer for those UCA's from your front suspension kit. There is a couple of features that I don't feel good about, I may just find my own engineer to build something fully custom or use another factory system to adapt.? It's real nice . Stay with it I hope!

Im enjoying your build very much. I ran a PBM high mount on my SR20 hardbody i built a few years ago. Worked very well. I have it still if you need one.
@Inner_Sanctum3 жыл бұрын
I was actually contemplating that PBM unit. I used to run them on my S-chassis cars and really enjoyed the response. Unfortunately, they don't really support more than about 320hp before they become inefficient. I believe PBM made that kit specifically for folks running the S15 T28 upgrade on their SRs to maximize power without losing that glorious response time.

Hey man, really like following your build. I'm doing up a D21 1989 down here in Aus, but having real trouble getting the small plastic connector from the speedo cable to the actual speedometer (know what I mean?) any advice on where to get one, other than a wreckers? Heard it's a common part failure down here. Cheers
@Inner_Sanctum3 жыл бұрын
It has been a long while since I have messed with a cable driven speedo. However, I know the plastic bit you're talking about. It's the white cylindrical plastic piece that mates directly to the rear of the gauge right? I reckon you should be able to buy a new one online if yours is broken. Unfortunately you might have to buy the entire cable assembly, as the unit is all sold under one part number [Nissan OEM P/N: 25050-55G00] They look to be about $27-$55 USD for non-OEM units on my side of the pond. The Nissan OEM unit is about $70 USD. Here's a link to an OEM unit: www.ebay.com/itm/163945768930 Hope this helps dude. Cheers!
