D213 Andania and 34067 Tangmere at Carlisle and Appleby 24 02 24

A day late in publishing following a series of problems with my - expensive - editing software.
English Electric Type 4 - later BR class 40 - D213 Andania (named after a location in Mesopotamia and a Cunard liner using that name) drew extraordinary crowds to Carlisle Citadel on a generally pleasant Saturday, the exuberant younger element being more interested in the diesel than the steam..
The 40 was hauling a two-day Crewe to Inverness trip whilst Oliver Bulleid's Battle of Britain class light Pacific was in charge of the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express from Bristol Temple Meads, steam-hauled from Carnforth, returning via the Settle and Carlisle line.

Great video i was on the winter cumbrian trip from Bristol a long old day with a 05:30 departure and returning at 23:49

The 40 was always a good-looking locomotive but sadly overweight and under-powered leading to a relatively short career.

Was a good day for sure, although my one iffy clip was actually at Carlisle - wrong place when the stock headed for Upperby. Some good aerial shots from your drone

I'd have preferred it if the train had stopped for water and let me get in closer but it didn't turn out too badly. Haven't had a chance to look at anyone else's work - editing till 2 a.m. this morning and have just uploaded the Sunday return. Am heading off for a nervous breakdown now!

It looks like you had a good day out. The class 40, my favourite diesel, always seem to run on days I have other arrangements. Tangmere looked to be going a bit fast to take on water and sure enough once again the scheduled stop was not made. I hope your editor will sort itself out, the sound volume is not constant, where the clips are edited together it now fades a bit.
