I remember finding this back in my total newb days. I was so excited to find a unique armor and used it on my 75 barb for basically that reason only. Was really struggling in act one hell (never used charges and had otherwise terrible gear lol).

That corpse explosion charges are really cheap. Didn't know that because most charges on items are usually very expensive!

You got a pretty unlucky roll when you upgraded the non-eth one, but a very good roll for the eth one, which is why it was so much better. When upping armor, you have to take into account the variability of the base armor defense. Ornate plate has a base defense of 417 to 450, and your base roll was already at the top end of 450 (1262 / 2.8 = 450). The upgraded version rolled only 1386 / 2.8 = 495 base defense, which is on the low side (sacred armor has a base defense of 487 to 600). A perfect roll would be 600 * 2.8 = 1680. The ethereal upgrade rolled 2489 / 2.8 / 1.5 (ethereal) = 592, which is almost perfect. A perfect roll would be 600 * 1.5 * 2.8 = 2520.

Nightmare baal does drop it, calculator not always correct. They should just make it +1 corpse explosion, you already loosing so many stats on it

Use this on a budget D Key hunter sorc. The CE will kill Nihlithak and clear his room. Melts the tomb vipers.

I remember hearing about this armor from my friends, back in the day. It gave Corpsemourn this legendary status, for me, so when I finally found one, I was extatic; underwhelming stats and all. Boy is that a shitty upgrade, though. The defense barely moved on it.

Yeah Corpsemourn isn't really about the defense, it's about being able to spam CE

6:30 i think this is a little mistake, the creators could allud you to not repair the item but restore the charges in it, but maybe im wrong.

The answer is yes, it does as necromancer also has access to fire mastery and has tested it. Full trangs gives fire mastery

That defence upgrade from exceptional to elite is pathetic. So much so it makes me think it's bugged?

It's not bugged, it's just the defenses of the two armors overlap a bit which makes it far less dramatic. It also means that if the ornate plate is on the high roll end and the sacred armor is on the low roll end it can actually go down

The one change they should make with this nonsense that gives "charges".. Stop with the effing charges. Just give the skill. 100k to refill charges on something that's virtually useless makes it that much more useless.
