This crossbow made for an interesting frozen arrow switch. I had one of these upgraded to the Gorgon crossbow & put Shael in it to get the lower resist to proc, & then switch to the frozen arrow to take advantage of the lower resist. I wish it was a more alternate class build friendly +2 to all skill levels instead of necromancer skill levels though.

When I was a young kid playing this game I used this on my necro because I thought the extra poison damage made my poison nova spell do more damage. I think I also put a perfect emerald in it because a bigger number is better. Haha

What most people miss on this is that when you combine pierce and strafe, this weapon is virtually guaranteed to proc LR in 1 strafe. Even more importantly, since strafe has a rehit delay, this weapon actually still achieves the maximum hit rate for strafe. Pretty decent swap option for an elemental amazon because of that.

What are you?? The Unique review factory?! You been dishing them out like a machine! Love it..Just randomly commenting here, but i was watching the Gnasher vid before, and i actually found that, together with a Dirk the Diggler, on my first D2r playthrough as a lowlevel shapeshifter! They indeed served me well....all the way up into hell! Had to insta switch the second i got into hell because even the lil imps one-shot me and for whatever reason i couldn't even get a hit in ^.^ Still keep them stashed for the memories though :D And of course for any new char. i'll be buidling. This Crossbow also seems a fun weapon, still fairly new so haven't really looked into ranged options: although as i'm still trying to beat Baal on Hell - i recently swapped my 2nd weapon to Wizendraw, for my (now changed into a) Wind-Druid, which works wonders for all those pesky cold and phys immunes... Had tried the bow on my merc, but as you said alas the -resistance to cold doesn't work like that. They should change that i.m.o. They could do so many cool things in D2r, that would give the game new life and longevity - not saying it isn't already fantastic - but that would be so cool. Imagine they unlocked the Merc's other equipment slots, like they recently did in D3, and combine that with the stated above, that would open up so many more builds. Also would love the addition of new runewords, like the fabled ones that were never activated.. But for now i'm totally enjoying myself as is, and prolly will do so for a good few years, but a man can dream... Looking forward to your next vid's! Maybe i can request a next unique to cover: Windhammer Ogre Maul Druid build perhaps, or a dual wielding Hell-Plague swords fire Barb? Good use for Stormrider Tabar? I also think a lot of lower level sets seem to have some more worth, than what you'd think...

They missed out on making it the poison version of the wizen draw. A nice negative poison resist to monsters and maybe some kind of poison effect on striking or if it could fire the poison bolts like the mages throw would have been workable

Ppl make fun of these low LVL uqns when do they do perform well enough. When you play the game with Blues or many rare items and boss drops any uqn item and it's automatically better. You out grow it but, it will last long enough for you to find a better replacement; or not lol. Alot of these nerco weapons are probably ment to help build your army and that's it. Once army is made you just go back to casting skills.

I really wanted to like it. Upgraded and shaeled my 214% spitter, gave it to a pretty well set up light fury/poison javazon. 120 IAS. The idea was to use it as a mana steal tool that would also proc lower res. Sounds good on paper, in practice it's just too slow. Procs were fine with strafe and damage was serviceable, but its awful speed puts you in strafe lock status all the time, really dangerous and annoying. Interestingly I found my third windforce while running the experiment. Guess which weapon that zon is using now.

I thought I once did use that item effectively but then I remembered it was on pd2 where it has 28% chance to proc a 35 lower res lol. I'd use multi shot on my zon then switched back to poison or lightning.

Oh dude now do medusas gaze! I am working on trying a act 3 merc. I use griz armor(added str gems) the gaze with a Hel and helm with added str. I am waiting to level more so it’s easier but it sounds fun!

I DID use one on hell diff out of desperation. It helped me get past act 2. It is less bad higher up with more skill levels to throw on alternatives.

Thoughts on an overhaul. Instead of poison nova when struck. Poison explosion on kill 100% chance. I know no one likes it. But with tight groups it’s impressive. I find it to be pretty useful with my P.Necro. Could still use an extra radius point for sure. And add more AS, damage or have a chance to roll with 2-3 sockets. Just my thoughts to make it more necro friendly. A man can dream. What do you think?

At level 36 this weapon is fine in terms of damage. At level 99, it is a joke. I think it’s intended while you’re leveling. Early nightmare. Sadly, this item will likely drop when you’re 70 already. As I recall, drops are 1 to N, where N is the character level.

Can you do one on Razer's edge tomahawk and if you think you can use it as part of a cheap frenzy Barb build to do Ubers with. I have Razer's edge, lightsaber, cats eye or high lord's, the set helm that gives crushing blow and stuff, gore riders, dungo's string of ears or tgods, Raven Frost, laying of hands, life tap wand. I have three key sets and am leveling a Barb in hopes he can do them.

Hey Great content! I have a question about Stats. Alot of people say "put enough Strength or Dex for gear"..but i get unsure what that means, lets say my Sorc for example, I have a monarch spirit which need 156 Str pretty much the only piece of gear which need that high Str rating. Now im thinking i put 120 points to str then i can put on 2 20 + Str rings on. Which means i can put 30 more points to Vitality, but then i waste to ring slots for better rings. So is it worth more to just put 156 hard points to Strength at that point?? Same problem/Questions with all my Characters, i get the feeling that i put too much points to Str/Dex

Most people don't bother min/maxing their characters until they finish them. So say for instance right now you put in 156 strength to use spirit but later you realize some of your end game gear pieces have +str, you get a torch with +stats and a annihilius charm with more stats you can reset her and reassign them to be more In line with your equipment.

@@angryguy7970 It does, but the way it works is weird: items get checked first against your base Str, then the ones you can equip allow you to equip higher reqs. So I equip a sword with 30 Str req and +10 Str allows me to equip a 40 Str req helm with +20 Str allows me to equip an armor with 60 Str req, even though my base Str is 30. Remove the sword and the helm and armor turn red. Throw on some gloves with +10 Str and everything works. What they removed are items supporting each other. The way it worked was if I boosted my Str to equip Tearhaunch and Spirit Forge, then removed the other Str-boosting equipment, as long as my Str was 55 or higher I could equip both, since SF gives +15, enough to equip Tearhaunch and get its +5, enough to equip SF.

May i suggest building this with your previous rabies druid build It will have a high atk rating with ton of summons to help while you jusst try to hit the rabies and if they got resistant you can just bite them again until they get curse 😂😂

Yes however venom would severally cut the damage. Venom Reduces all poison damage to it's duration and cuts the damage to match it's duration.

lower resistance works on CE

Yes, not as well as amplify damage but yes. If you are a poison nova necromancer for instance with maxed lower resistance no need to swap for CE Main issue comes into play that lvl 1 amplify damage is far better at buffing the damage of CE then lvl 1 LR. So AMP just becomes the preferred choice except in specific use case scenarios

I think the devs wanted that poison nova to be a defensive stat for when you do in fact get hit because when you're at a range, if it was proc'd on hit, it wouldn't hit anything probably anyway since it radiates from the necromancer's center. It's still a pretty useless stat regardless.
