y they did an example Like A Knight's Tale they got a big piece of wood push against his chest and see how it feels anybody that ride bike and it doesn't matter what kind .we knows when we hit the ground you know it's going to hurt. I like to see a crash dummy with this answers and put the armor on and see how much impact does it feel with the sensors send me the armor and I will put it to good test extreme test

This is the same BS demonstration you always see with this stuff. They a take a glob of this stuff out of a can, cover fingers and hit with object. That's all fine and good, but your not going to be wearing globs of this putty. Instead your going to be wearing the foam. So the slight of hand here is that you have to tacitly accept the conclusion that the foam will exhibit the same protective properties as the glob. Well, if so, why not demo that. Cover fingers with foam and hit with hammer. They don't ever do that demo. Oh yes they do drop a ball bearing. How nice, but I'm not worried about ball bearings when I ride. And by the way, I took raw pizza dough, and it passed the dropped ball bearing test-don't recommend it as body armor though. Now, to be clear, I'm not saying D30 is BS, maybe it is as effective as claimed, but maybe not. I just want to dispense with the glob on hand gimmick and see a real demo of foam on body taking hit.

+jpcannavo For it to actually work protective it has to have a tight fit (like a helmet). Another thing is that the glob may have a different density than the foam - so yes, the question should be how thick does a peace of 3do foam need to be in order to have the same amount of protection as a 10x10 cm peace of glob. But I do see potential in that stuff - I would be curious about a real helmet made out of that stuff - would be comfortable and protective when it needs to be? .. well and maybe make you look like a teletubby :-) - but then again: what's the critical force to break the material?

+Peter Reitinger I don't think it will work with helmet. You don't need to return energy when you hit your head, you need something that will absorb or disperse it away. Well D3O kind of does that but i goes both ways (inside and outside). So while if you hit a tree in that kind of helmet your skull might not make a contact with the tree but it still will hit the inside of D3O that will be hardened at that moment meaning still a very high chance of acquiring a serous injury.

MrFujiapples Yes I know - D3O will not absorb energy in terms of protection (it may protect from penetration, that is). What I meant was, as long as it is no tight fit, your head would squash onto the 3DO like it would on the obstacle directly cause of the distance traveled to the 3DO .. uhm hard to describe. There was this experiment with bicycle helmets, where they put a too big helmet on an egg and a fitting one, and just the fitting one actually protects the egg, beause the impact is distributed on more surface of the egg - do you know what I mean?
