D6T Pushing Fill

Back in the late 70's I used to drive a D8H, pony engine start, cable operated blade which I loved, but then I got a D6C - without the power shift, both had the angle blade. These new machines make me wish I could get back in the saddle.

These new machines are pretty amazing at both the comfort and productivity you get out of them. It's a good time!

Before I retired from Fresh Kills Landfill. I was pushing out and grading 240 trucks a day. Sometimes a couple of miles long and half mile wide and 30 to 100 foot deep. (in 5 foot lifts) Most of my final grades were compound or complex grades. We worked rain or shine for 10 years. Just fill and grade. I split my time with D6R LGP and D9R, depending upon conditions. !00% of every hill and dale, nook and cranny. Had to be filled before "final capping" When I retired, they turned the entire operation over to a private company, Tully Construction. For final capping, and turning the dump into a park. It's white noise. I think it's easier on the ears than the traditional backup alarm
