That's how so many dinosaur bones ended up in piles together. D9 Cat !

It’s always a pleasure to watch a true catskinner at work! I appreciate an operator who knows how to use his rippers, most guys bury the whole ripping chassis instead of just 2/3rds of the shank, which causes undue wear on both. Jay, a man and his machine, is a beautiful thing! 🙏🇺🇸💪💪🤘
@KySilverfish8 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the other skilled hands noting in words how skilled you were in performing this particular task. People like me who have never operated such a machine can't fully comprehend how much skilled precision was utilized simply by watching a video. Expert opinions by similar workmen spell out explicitly whether the operator knows his trade or not, and to what degree.

D-9s are great machines. We dug a pit like this with our D9G one time to bury trees we cleared on a road allowance and while my dad was digging the hole with the D-9 I was gathering up the brush with the D6D. I worked all morning pushing these trees in a pile next to the hole he was digging. After lunch, with one push of the D9G, all my morning's work ended up in the hole.

Nice smooth cuts hell of an operator there. Plus scrapers would have to make big circle set up and the dozer would have to push then back up. In a slot doze like this dozer will do the work faster.

I can guess a few reasons to bury vs burn: Forego the cost of accelerants, Forego any dangers of fire spreading during dry and windy conditions, Maintain discretion such that outside parties are not alerted to the volume or frequency of disposed animals (In the case of diseased cattle that could be alarming to neighbors, buyers/consumers, or regulatory types.), Reduce the risk of spreading fungiforms for disease that would normally escape open burning temperatures (chronic bovine encephalitis or wasting disease comes to mind).

how come ya aint riping as ya pushing?
@louieenos309110 жыл бұрын
Looks like you and this operator both have the same pick-up truck.
@Jpaydirt10 жыл бұрын
chris scott Its pretty difficult in a slot like this, the ripper will try to steer you into the wall and then the blade will gouge into it and stall you, you steer with the tilt cylinder, when you get this deep the outside shanks can't dislodge the hard pan outward because of the ten feet of material on top of it so it travels inward and never really breaks up at the inside edges, so the corner bits have to remove the hard pan making it kinda squirrely to get it to run straight, you can do both but then both operations suffer to the point that your just not getting enough ripping or dozing done.
