Doubt it. I know how "we" (black people) are. We joke too much. Other races seem to have a little more tact than we do in general. I doubt white women are sitting up in the doctor's office calling donors Jiminy Cricket or anything of the sort. It's such a serious journey. I remember when my mom's white friend went through it. Could never see her making jokes about donors.
@Sowedintears6 Жыл бұрын
Bottom line is she said, what she said, she meant what she meant! If he looked like Jimetty Cricket, then she’s entitled to her own opinion of how someone looks just like anyone else is. Her opinion is hers, it’s not the gospel, it’s hers….and that should be OK! People wishing miscarriage on her, that’s something totally different, the real hatred. Saying someone isn’t cute versus saying you wish someone (baby) would die is not by any means any comparison. Someone being Ugly don’t kill them!!!!!! Wishing someone dead, can. If more people were more selective about who they chose to create a baby with a lot of thirst defects people have would be limited. Choose who you think would be a good parent. Back in the day you has to take a blood test before you got married to see if either party had a genetic issue or a carrier of some trait that could be passed on to your future kids. Now no one will know if their kids will have any kind of disorder or not unless they get the test done themselves

This is important and so true. My aunt and her husband have been married almost 30 years with 2 kids. She told me as a teenager that only after one of my cousins was born with sickle cell that both her and her husband carried the trait for it. Meaning there was a 25% chance that a child they had would have sickle cell. She told me that had she known she would not have married him. Why, because sickle cell is a serious disorder and painful disorder which nobody would want their child to have. From then it was always in my mind that before having children it's important to know what diseases run in our blood lines, as we may be incompatible.
@flexibledreamer7846 Жыл бұрын
When both parents carry the sickle cell trait their offspring have a 50% chance of having the disease, not 25%.
@Just-Princess Жыл бұрын
@@flexibledreamer7846 Yes, you're correct I misspoke, thank you. It is 50% which further highlights the point I was making. Nobody wants to significantly increase the probability of their child having a serious and potentially life limiting disorder. My beautiful 21 year old cousin who is about to be a paediatric RN in 2 months (🥳) has experienced more than one terribly painful sickle crisis. Her mother, my mother's sister directly told me as a teen that she 1000% would not have married and procreated with her husband of 27 years had she known that they both carried the trait to spare any child of hers having what is a preventable but devastating disease. Different scenario, but my guess is Judy (Jessica) carries the trait as many black people (in addition to those of 3 other conditions). They were in a position to engage in genetic testing before creating a child healthy (without the heartache of breaking up with their partner). If the donor had to be Asian, white, latino or anything other than black to make that happen that is wise and thoughtful. I pray they have a healthy child (I have another teenage cousin with autism who is non-verbal and low functioning and it is hard). People can be so judgemental. I send them only love 🤍.

Many these days seem totally unaware of the disease. I was thankful after finding out I do not carry the trait.

It's hard to believe that there aren't any black donors.

It depends on where you go. Someone said they interned at a fertility clinic and there were plenty of black donors.
@swissmiss-rj4pq Жыл бұрын
@@keepsit100atalltime9 yeah but are they desirable? Yeah some joker could donate sperm but if he is unattractive or looks shady why would he get picked. Guaranteed that if you had a good looking guy vs the jiminy cricket guy they not picking cricket. They are going to go with the attractive guy and then they have to consider genetic issues as well

Well it's going to be weird walking around with a white baby when both parents are black. Me personally I would continue looking for a black donor. If one parent was black no problem but to be black and black no way. I don't buy this story I'm sorry. They wanted a light skinned baby and couldn't find a light skinned dute. I watched de brat grow up on TV I know her well enough on how she feels and think about certain situation.

How is that different from all the bm walking around with mixed children and nonblck women??

It was obvious. A search for a light-skinned baby. But it's their choice. Just be honest with your fans.

This is whats wrong with our world people take things way to seriously. What ever donor you both choose and as long as you have a healthy baby and both are happy then that all that matters.

I wish them a healthy baby and delivery. I did not see it as a joke. Rather it was the dismissal of having a Black baby I found quite offensive. There are PLENTY of sperm banks in the U.S. with whatever you are looking under the sun, the moon, and the stars. Just be honest and say you both wanted a fair-skinned child. It's quite obvious.

Unfortunately a lot of gay couples are like that. I remember seeing on Twitter gay couples (men and women) posting their children and A LOT were biracial.

First of all, congratulations to Da Brat and Judy for a successful and happy journey to their shared motherhood!! Thanks to Tamron for having the urgency in bringing them on your show and clarifying these misconceptions and untruths. Second, THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT IN THIS WORLD & BEYOND TO CHOOSE THE FATHER OF THEIR CHILD!!! If they didn’t want their child to have particular genetic and physical traits mixed with theirs…SO WHAT!!!! It’s their right!! If the man looked like Jiminy Cricket, he looked like Jiminy Cricket!! Oh well!! Call it how you see it!! I’m pretty sure Brat meant no harm, but damn!! Bottom line, y’all judgment people need to shut the hell up and let people live their lives how they please!!! Not one of us on any threads contributed financially, emotionally, medically, physically, or mentally to their journey to motherhood. So, those who are “bothered” by their decisions and posting derogatory remarks…need to stop and tend to their own business.

People can be so hateful in the comment section. Nothing anyone says would ever hurt my feelings. That's why a lot of people want to be on social media, afraid of what people will say about them.
