Oh no . . . I was so disappointed to hear an influential artist like Da Brat defending Sexxy Redd's music! You wrong for that, Brat! Sexxy not caring how what she does or says in her lyrics affects an entire generation as long as she secures the bag is neither a flex and something to be admired. Her gutter lyrics are exactly what Coast shines light against. Sexxy's music not only "euthanize the youths ears" but is contributing to destroying the potential of an entire generation of black people while dismantling true hip hop culture. I just watched a video of a black kindergarten teacher crying because the little girls in her class are requesting Pound Town instead of innocent children's music and twerking on the playground. She was heartbroken because the parents were bumping that nonsense and passing it down to their kids. Sexxy Redd's "music" is not just trashy but toxic to the mind, spirit, and soul. A hip hop legend like Brat should care that Sexxy's music is "literally littering" these hip hop streets! This is bigger than some "you do you, boo" mantra. When are celebrity influencers REALLY gonna act like black lives matter? Now, please don't hear me wrong - I'm not judging Sexxy as an individual because I don't know her personally and thus can't speak to what she's been through to make the decisions she has. But truth is truth even if it ain't popular. I simply hate what she represents as an artist and a black woman as well as the fact that she is allowing herself to be puppeteered by "bag holders" with a hidden evil agenda. All money ain't good money. And I never saw a bag that can save a damned soul. I sincerely pray both for Miss Sexxy's spiritual awakening and for Coast's continued success in using their metaphors and similes to sweep up the mess industry plants like her are creating on these hip hop streets!
