It’s striking how the ANC and EFF are too busy fighting to keep their “organisations” in order while the DA is actually trying to improve the lives of South Africans

People should start to wake up and open their eyes, because it seems South African people don't seem to realize that parties that claim to liberate people are the ones making hard for the people. How ironic. As people we should do away with this race-vail these parties are covering people with just to push their mandate and start focusing on the portfolio outcomes. I think the DA has been prominently performing up to so far since the GNU been established. With these hypocritical so called "liberation parties", power is their obsession.

For the same price we could have built 7 Nuclear power stations according to estimates. A trillion, not billions....we are talking a trillion Rand!!!! That means each person in this country has overpaid R22 177 over 15 years. This is R1478 per year and R123 per month each!!

Part of the basic problem is the current tariff policy to give services away free to the sector who are the highest users of services/m2. Instead of adopting a policy that everyone must pay, and creating eg 3 basic structures excluding bus tariffs, the ANC insists on free services, convoluted tariff structures, municipalities using vastly increased electricity tariffs to x-subsidise income. For years the ANC has used the words we give - they have given nothing but a collapsed economy, increased job losses &failing infrastructure.

All these increases don't hit the people who vote for ANC. They hit the people who are funding everything with their hard earned salaries: the taxpayers. The so-called poor get free electricity, free water, free housing and a lot more in free services. They ar not bothered by any of these things. That's why for them ANC still remains an option to begin with. The overburdened, over-robbed taxpayers are less than 3 million of the population and can never outvote the majority of leeches. So these hikes will keep happening and going up.

@@marcebresler1842 Problem is after the collapse, they will turn their attention to the taxpayers because "they are not sharing equitably" and vote in a new populist leadership to turn the screws even tighter on taxpayers. If you think about it for a couple of minutes it dawns on you that taxpayers are pretty much just cows kept by the non-taxpayers and managed by SARS. Like cows we can't just leave the farm when we want, There are stringent controls to keep us in. Ultimately our sole purpose is to be milked to feed the leeches. Think about it. Depressing. What's worse is after being milked, lets say you want to buy a nice Tesla... nope.. can't do that because it is unfair to the leeches... so pay massive taxes as punishment. Wow. The stupidity is incredible. Wanting to squeeze the last little bit out of people who are barely getting by. Why not follow in Namibia's footsteps and start charging all these tourists for visa's. Apparently Cape Town had about 3 million visitors last year. At just $50 a visa (a lot less than what we must pay to go to their countries), I am sure anyone with basic math can do that calculation. That is a hell of a lot of money, every year, that can do a hell of a lot for this country instead of trying to squeeze it out of the poor. I have tourists coming into my business and last year I asked every one of them if they would be willing to pay for a tourist visa. Not only did everyone say that they would be happy to pay for a visa, but the Americans said that they were very surprised that they didn't have to pay for a visa. South Africa needs to catch a wake up and stop acting like a bunch of moegoe's.
@shiftyourmindset2
@shiftyourmindset2 19 күн бұрын
If you ask money for a visa no one is coming here anymore. with the crime it's already declining. i don't have to pay for visa, only a few countries in the world , so a bad solution. You have to make SA more acctricting for tourists. better infrastructure, more businesses on the beach where you can drink eat etc instead of stupid malls.. safe country to travel, by train bus etc without crime this high. then you attract more people then you can handle.. not with paying for a visa. that 50 pound they spent easily here extra then

@lisalinnow4402 19 күн бұрын
@@shiftyourmindset2 that is a ridiculous negative kneejerk reaction. I aksed every tourist who came to my workshops and everyone said they would happily pay for a visa because they love Cape town. It is beautiful and the people friendly. So, do research before forming an opinion. I did the research. Not one single tourist say anything negative about a visa or Cape Town. And I have many tourists coming in from Nov all the way to April and even a few during winter. This is the type of small8nded thinking that is holding us back.
@lisalinnow4402
@lisalinnow4402 19 күн бұрын
@@shiftyourmindset2 they also said that it is so cheap here that $100 visa would mean nothing to them. Get the information directly from tourists rather instead of some made up narrative to throw negativity on South Africa. If you think it is so bad here, then leave. Obviously many Europeans and Americans do not agree with you because so many want to buy property and move here permanently. I know. I am friends with many of them.

DA - I love you, but electricity is a luxury and should be treated as such. Tariffs should be cut for businesses to keep the economy ticking over, but residents should start turning off their lights at night and switching off their geysers. Push solar power and gas stoves, and offer discounts for homes that install it. AND CUT THE ILLEGAL POWER LINES I SEE IN ALL THE TOWNSHIPS.
@KatRSA
@KatRSA 19 күн бұрын
Instead of engaging in futile rhetoric, focus on tangible actions! Effective service delivery and rigorous law enforcement are key to winning public trust. While others are preoccupied with trivial matters, the DA can capitalize on the ANC's weaknesses. By providing essential services in traditionally ANC-held areas, you can sway voters and gain a competitive edge. For instance, addressing the scourge of non-functional streetlights in townships and villages, which has led to heightened crime rates and decreased safety, can be a significant game-changer. Similarly, implementing efficient waste management systems, ensuring access to clean water, and upgrading infrastructure can demonstrate a commitment to governance. By focusing on these critical areas and letting achievements speak louder than words, the DA can outmaneuver the ANC and secure a decisive victory.

This is utter nonsense, take your mind back 30+ years :- How did the former Government afford to maintain , supply and produce electricity to the whole of South Africa at a reasonable fee.? Bear in mind that even those days they were able to build up Reserve Account/s for immediate use should a crisis arrive. Crime as rampant as these days, theft of financial reserves, resources, etc., that just disappear and nobody knows where it went??????? 1 + 1 = 2 (Not 0) On the other side, I am of the opinion that Employees salaries and perks plus housing, have escalated beyond reserve. You knew the costs of living plus the added expense of getting to or from your place of work, but you still want butter on both sides of your slice of bread. Do Staff employed at Power Stations, pay for electricity consumption, housing and water?? What about the admin., staff involved; or are they also enjoying similar benefits?? Normal people have to pay for electricity just in order to live; some buy pre-paid, to ensure that they are not in arrears, but Eskom/Municipal supplier owes them electricity, but they get cut off when the Municipality is in default. Don't make sense??
