I was in Vietnam on Feb and loved it. But like you I battled with the traffic even just walking. I was always looking in the wrong direction. Hooting is just part of the driving or riding culture and it does take some getting used to. An e-bike may be the way to go? Hopefully they are available to hire.

Isn't Da nang where the the US disembarked after the Vietnam war.I Bought North face jackets in Ho Chi Minh nearly 10 years ago,cheap price & I still were them today,great jackets..Nice video Wayne...Thanks..

I read that Vietnam was going be giving out 90 day visa on arrival soon. I have to leave Thailand for 3 months once my Visa runs out and I was trying decide between Vietnam and Malaysia

Yes, that is the trick, just walk out, but it takes balls. The air quality is not so good here today, but still loads better than Chiang Mai. It's been pretty good here though.

Vietnam does seem to be stricter than most with the license. I thought my Thai license would be ok here, but nope. Seems like they only accept a Vietnam license here.

Traffic even worse in Saigon. Seems like millions of rushing scooters. It helps to cross with a pretty girl. I did that while hitch hiking in Nicaragua. Anyway, it is so cold, and boring where I live now. So busy in Vietnam. I would feel l alive there. Also, you might see what I mean by capitalism on the streets in Vietnam. Same in Laos . Some people might think it is like some dark, Soviet type country. I will try this fall for those lively countries. Thanks.

A dollar fifty to rent a bike just so you can push the bloody thing around all day?. Mind you i suppose that's cheap when you consider all the exercise you getting whilst pushing it. Cheaper than paying gym fees any day. Riding the thing in amongst the chaos of it all would be a bit like playing dodgems with the grim reaper. Your taking your life into your own hands but at least you tried. You should be nominated for some sort of bravery award or something? I'll write a letter to His Maj at Buckinghuge Palace to see if he can knock a small one up for you. Nothing too fancy though you understand?. Top vlog Wayne and very informative. you don't need a license to ride a 50 cc bike or an electric bike, hopefully you'll be able to find one How's the air quality ?, hope it is much better than CM Best to get someone to watch over your bicycle to make sure its not stolen, though there will be a much higher chance of getting a motorbike stolen ..
