DA40 NG | Hour Building | EGBW - LFAT

Josh stretches his wings with is first international flight, building hours towards his professional ratings and gaining some valuable new experiences.
This is the first leg of the weekend from Wellesbourne to Le Touquet, with two more come as we venture onwards and experience flying in France properly by continuing to La Rochelle (LFBH) for a night stop before returning non-stop to Wellesbourne the following day.
Aircraft is a DA40 NG fitted with Garmin G1000 avionics and GFC 700 autopilot.

hey i noticed you don't have the master guard. do these in europe come with 28 gallon tanks? just slightly different spec than the ones sent to the us

The 2023 model in the fleet has a master guard, this one (early NG) requires a pull out on the switch (similar to most gear selectors) to move between on/off. I suspect the switch is the same part as in the DA42. The guard is a good protection but we have a briefing note to make sure it is always closed except when in use as they are easy to catch with a foot getting in or out of the aircraft and once broken there is no protection to accidental operation until it’s replaced. Diamond seem to have strengthened the part recently though as the last one that has gone on seems more robust.

One of the fleet is 28 gallons and the later one has the extended range. They are rarely used though, but a really good option for long distance touring.
