I have several different race belt rigs set up for the different division and different guns. I have and use the CR Speed Versa Pouch, the DAA Racer and Race Master, and the Ghost pouches, along with various belts. Honestly, All of them work just fine if you spend the time to make shims and tune them to your mags. That said, Personally I prefer the CR Speed or DAA Racer pouches with DAA or Shooter Connection belts. Ghost does make some very cool quick clip on magnetic pouches which can be moved easily from belt to belt. I use a magnet on my front pouch as my starting mag and to hold my last mag after a stage.
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
I wish we had magnets in PRD. DAA makes the best bullets out pouches IMO

You should install ALL of the included retention parts with the ghost instead of less than half of them to give a good honest review. When set up properly per the manufactures instructions there is no slop with the ghost mag pouch and the retention is excellent. Just my 2 cents.
@TheHumbleMarksman4 жыл бұрын
you mean the instructions that came with it that only covered mounting them on the belt but not how to set up the pouch? those were super useful. They may have updated them since but when I bought these the instructions were total garbage.
@SigGuy4 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with the instructions and that is why I looked on KZbin for reviews and more helpful information. After watching several I was able to set it up per the manufacturers specifications. I just think it want given a fair review as it wasn’t set up properly. The manufacturer seriously dropped the ball on installation. They had a bunch of useless info in many different languages. Wasn’t trying to be a dbag. Many people seek those with experience on matters they don’t know much about. Myself included. This is why reviews need to be as factual as possible. I am not affiliated in any way with ghost. I do feel for the price it’s a fantastic product though. All except the instructions anyway.
@TheHumbleMarksman4 жыл бұрын
Sig Sauer Guy they will crack with enough use. If you dryfire and go bullets out it’s very common for the pouch to crack. There’s a few things working against this pouch. They are a great value. The review is factual- perhaps incomplete
@SigGuy4 жыл бұрын
TheHumbleMarksman that is good to know. I’ll be sure to keep inspecting them regularly. Really wanted the others but $60 a pop is a bit steep when other expenses are necessary. Again thank you.

TheHumbleMarksman not much shooting left for me this season , won't be back in states till end of the month. But might actually give it a try, at least dry fire. Figured , since I didn't get to compete a lot this summer, I'll make it up with dry fire over the winter along with some workout to get back in shape ( not a round shape )

Mind sharing which spacers you are using for your Racers and CZ mags? I’m currently using the two thickest spacers with the adjustment wheel backed all of the way out and it seems to be a bit too tight. Every other combination seems too loose. Thanks in advance for your help and keep up the good work on your channel!
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
I use the fat spacers on both sides for my CZ's going bullets out. It's possible your spacers or perhaps the pouch body are out of spec. You could call Alpha Dynamics about the spacers or maybe sand down the spacers until they fit. Is it just on insertion or is it when it's in? If I put it in wrong it feels like there's a lot of resistance, I have to push into the leaf spring and flatten it for smooth insertion.

I bought CR Speed Versa mag pouches and I regret not buying aluminium when I had the chance. The plastic pouches are tight when they're cold but when they heat up from your body heat and/or in the sun they start to loosen up and drop mags
@TheHumbleMarksman7 жыл бұрын
The aluminum ones aren't bad. i think the DAA ones won't have the same issues - the CR speed just uses a retention screw you crank down right? the DAA uses a leaf spring that compresses when you insert and keep constant pressure on.

TheHumbleMarksman the racers don't seem to have the cutout. Does that make them IDPA legal?
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
IDPA says you cannot have adjustable retention on gear that doesn’t take tools to adjust- since racers have wheels to adjust retention they are black balled. Best bet would be Safariland 773. If it’s for a CZ you can use the beretta ones I believe

You proved nothing on the Ghost except that you did not configure it correctly, which is why it falls out. There is actually a good review that goes into how to set up the Ghost to be pretty solid.
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
Does it teach you how To not crack the pouch.body with use? Because I couldn’t figure that one out. At this point I have used their holster belt and pouches and other than the belt everything else has developed cracks with daily use.
@MrJRon1156 жыл бұрын
That's concerning, including the DAA Racers?
@MrJRon1156 жыл бұрын
Still, your issue with it falling out is easily fixed if you set it up correctly.
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
And use set screws? The pouches are difficult to insert for pick up and stow mags, I was concerned the mags would catch on those. For PRD it was rare but happened occasionally. I don’t think they are as good as the double alphas in any metric other than price.
