Cornsilog - Corned beef Tocilog - Tocino / Sweet Pork Jerky Bangsilog - Fried Bangus / Milkfish Longsilog - Longganisa / Filipino version of Chorizo And a lot more. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Beef tapa dip with garlic vinegar goes well or with atsara( pickled pas papaya). Also try pork tocino with gsrlic rice... Fried boneless bangus is fried milkfish.
@Jekmyster5 жыл бұрын
here is something that a lot of people get wrong when eating filipino foods. Each food item is usually very plain. Like the Beef tapa that you had. On a flavor profile, it basically has a one or two note flavor. Most filipino foods are like that. It is the combination of sauces and food items that makes the dish sing together. Also, filipinos would most always have an accompanying sauce. Vinegar, soy sauce, fish sauce, sometime a mix of sauces, like vinegar with say sauce, or fish sauce with calamansi (is a small lime, bsically a mix of an orance , lemon, and lime taste) , or say sauce with calamansi. Certain sauces will go well with certain types of foods. Lastly, not all foods are cooked the same. If i can hear right, your beef tapa was a little sweet, but that will not always be the case. Over 7100 islands, divided into 17 regions, with 81 provinces, food items will be cooked slightly differently, not even from place to place, but restaurant to restaurant. But generally, for breakfast, beef tapa is usually a little salty, the Pork Tocino is sweet, Longanisa is a very flavorful sausage (again each province has their version of longanisa), and The daing na Bangus is a dried milkfish typically boneless. On a side note, Daing is a term used when something is dried. so its basically daing na ... (insert name of fish here) Well i hope you guys enjoy the rest of your stay.

There's a lot to try. Champorado (choco rice) with tuyo (dried fish), other delicacies (Kakanin) like, Suman, Bibingka, Kutsinta, Puto, ginatan etc. Note that different provinces or localities has different take or flavors on their own delicacies (kakanin), so find, try and taste whenever possible it in every places you visit.

Just a tip when eating Filipino dishes: whenever there's a sauce bowl, we usually just quickly dip the meat/fish in it. Put some rice in your spoon, then add the dipped meat, then eat. 👌👌
@iflipover5 жыл бұрын
Yes, dip, dip, dip. Though most of the time i submerge my meats in the sauce and then get it from there (starting from the bottom part) hehe.
@pete69425 жыл бұрын
You mean I’ve been eating my food incorrectly for over 30 years? 🤣 I completely disagree with you Trent. More people don’t dip, they get a bit of sauce with a spoon.
@bashersbeware5 жыл бұрын
Whatever works for you. Either you take a slight scoop of the sauce and put on your tapa or you dip the tapa is acceptable. What you dont do though is lift the saucer or bowl of sauce then pour onto your plate. That will be too over powering.

Looks good! 'Longanisa' is a sausage, like a sweet chorizo. Really good! 'Bangús' (silent g, like in 'crossing' 'walking' etc) is a white fish, called a milkfish, with kind of a dense meaty texture, with fatty portions. It's really good grilled or smoked! Bangus is known to be very boney, so the boneless kind is a very welcome option. 'Tocino' is bacon in Spanish, which are chunky slices of tender pork, also sweet. Some people like to break up the fried egg and mix in some rice with the yolk. Yummy! That Tapa looked yummy!
