Good job Ben 👍 We cannot compare KL/Malaysia with SG, SG is a developed country and KL/Malaysia is a developing city/country.. KL is bigger than SG and SG is a small island more easier to manage and organize.. while you can still seeing many high scaffolding structures etc in KL it shows KL is growing and growing rapidly and non-stop..😊KL/Malaysia has its own specialities with more gigantic skyscrapers and amazing skyline and also natural rainforest and wildlife conservations besides holidays in cool highlands resorts, pristine islands and beaches.. No matter how much SG has far developed it is still depending on Malaysia's natural resources like fresh water , electricity, fresh vegetables and fruits like the Malaysian most famous durian varieties especially the Musang King and Black thorn..😅

Nice video, Ben. I think foreigners, like in every other country, you need some time to even experience “culture shock”. In Malaysia, because of the many races, each race has its own distinct culture, and you can experience that even in KL itself by just exploring the suburbs. You’ll find Malaysians feeling “culture shock” even among themselves because of the race barrier. It’s like oil and water, we can stay side by side, but we hardly mix.

KL is an old city with old infrastructure at the beginning of its establishment. Some old structures are historical with eclectic design and architecture from abroad, Moghul style etc. Thus when the city grow to the extent that to build high rise towers one must preserve the old to become great. This is why some pavement or sidewalks couldn't connect to each other due to old landmarks or foundations.

my advice to befriends the local here. we kinda shy at first but after that barrier is broken the people here is nice and friendly to be your tour guide. each race has preference. if you want to drink alcohol or clubbing, chinese indian and some malay will have preference spot. malay can be divided into 2. religion and non-religious (not atheist necessarily) but still open to more option. if you wanna eat pork or noodles, chinese will recommend a good spot of ba kut teh. a spicy herb pork soup. if you wanna eat curry, indian has a good reputation here in making their own curry and has a much deeper flavor than chinese or malay they are a bit watery. if you wanna try local food, malay is the best cuz majority of it will be served outside of KL. rice is a staple food here so be prepared as we dont serve pork. if you go to sabah or sarawak, there are more option there but the travel hard since public transport isnt that good. use grab or rent a car for travel. i recommend using grab as the local driver will recommend any spot you may have missed and we are a bit talkative. this is my advice as a malaysian.
