Dad had a lot of Molines over his farming career, the one he wanted and never got was a G-1000 Vista. Nice video, helluva beast you got there.

You want some ridges. It helps hold the rain and give it time to soak into the ground. Nice video!

Interesting I haven't thought about that. Thanks for watching!

I have the same Field cultivator with the hydraulic fold wings, makes it 19 ft and with a spring tine harrow. It's heavy to pick up but my issue was that it's not good in high residue like we try to have for minimum tillage and erosion control. My 97 LPG Massey has the same motor as your Vista! It's basically a G705 with a massey badge and grille. I haven't used it for a while as we don't have a decent way to fuel it, need a powered transfer pump.

I am starting to believe that the MM G1000 Vista was one of the best tractors of the 1960's. On the dairy farm with my father, in Northern NYS, we had Oliver and Deere. In NNYS, dairy farmers owned the JD 4020's or IH 806's. I have never had the chance to operate a MM tractor. Are you crop farming in Kansas?

We are located in Central Illinois

That tractor will play with that cultivator. About half of what I pull.
@wildcatwilly5 ай бұрын
Oh it certainly did. But we just wanted to try it... And it was our tractor that had duals on at the time. We wanted the flotation

@wildcatwilly An old guy from our church had a U302 and an Allis Chalmers pull type combine. Took him a good long dry week or more to harvest a large field of barley. That was about mid 1970s.
@wildcatwilly Жыл бұрын
That would be awesome to see! Where are you from?
@oldtruthteller2512 Жыл бұрын
@wildcatwilly NE Iowa originally. I've lived all over the US since 1990.

Oh ya? What do you do for work?
@orsonyancey4131 Жыл бұрын
Not many MM dealers in NYS. Because propane is so expensive in the East, I would estimate that 99% of the tractors are diesel.

That makes sense

U need to pull the duels, those tractors never lasted in this country with them, blew rear Ends quickly and often
@wildcatwilly2 жыл бұрын
Oh ya? What would happen to them?
@miraclelawn1158 Жыл бұрын
Yup my grandpa told me the same thing happened to one our family member, the weight of those moline were heavy an the trans were never built enough for the duals, an start breaking gears inside, yes they look great on the tractor tho,
@LarsDcCase Жыл бұрын
@@wildcatwilly some tractors transmissions and rear ends were not designed to take the extra torque that the duals put on them.
@frankwurth53759 ай бұрын
The only ones that had rear end problems were the ones that were added on turbo charger diesels turned way up on power. Even those out lasted the normal Allis Chalmers D-21 and 190 s.

Don't use wide spaced duals or lock the brakes on a turn, it'll be fine.
