When he walked out in just his underwear I would have looked him in the eye, smiled my best naughty smile and said “ You have a beautiful body.” He would definitely have said thank you, but the way he said it would be the tell. So much is said through eye contact and body language between gay men. Next time (and I can tell from your story there will be a next time) just hold his eye contact for as long as possible and be confident and open minded. That doesn’t mean be aggressive- you’re right, he’s a guest. But I promise you’ll see the results! 😊

We met in the club, although he did go to his mum to get the keys to the house when we went home :D First half of my youth was spent like you, scared or unsure of every interaction. At some point i gave up being scared. I managed to turn plenty of innocent moments, not even as obvious as underwear guy, into dates and 'evenings' just by going for it and being ready for rejection, being ready for my "ah cool, i'm sorry i was just hopeful" - and i either got success or a decent friend, or a cool calm exit. Months later i bumped into this guy and his girlfriend and i was a 'famous' story to his friends about the confident gay guy who asked him out, and was polite enough to take no for an answer and not talk about "conversion"

You did the right thing. I totally agree he was giving you signs but a guy that hot is probably use to this scenario and it’s a way he gets things he wants and needs. So there is an unspoken contract - you help him out and then he sleeps with you. Classic no money involved tricking. But even if it’s a bit manipulative on his part the point is this is what society has told him works so he accepts using his body as an object. The truth is he might not always be into it but he wants that hot shower and a more comfortable place to stay, so he is willing to pay the fee. He kept expecting you to take advantage of him so he could hold up his end of the “contract”, but you didn’t bite because you saw it was exploitive and were perfectly happy giving a person some needed compassion in a less than ideal situation without asking for anything in return. I’m sure he genuinely appreciated that and if this is a lifestyle he’s use to, I’m sure you stand out as a positive memory. I know a handful of people that do this kind of thing and so I say with confidence he’s likely had some truly awful interactions, so you really do stand out as a rare gem.
