It's always hype when crowd chants the spells with sora

So glad Kameme showed us that the "Sora bad" concept was a solely western idea. Japan figured out Sora is insane a long time ago.

Fair, especially because sora won a major there

It’s cause people didn’t want to give time into Sora tbh. And the few who did, just didn’t reach this level yet.

Still not convinced that Sora's particularly good. Ult is just balanced well enough that even a mid tier like Sora can make a decent bracket run now and then.
@juggernautstark12 жыл бұрын
Kameme dropped 75% of his combo extensions… the fact that he didn’t just go for the easy bnb & advantage state over the combo reset after continuously dropping or whiffing is crazy/brave… and Of course as the set went on Kameme cleaned it up. It is foolish to discount Sora at the top level when someone is literally not executing the move set 75% of the time and still winning vs a top player… Sora does have some impossible matchups that are popular. Fox, G&W feel awful to deal with, But he can hold his own vs most others. 100% a top tier character. Struggles slightly vs zone & slightly to a couple mashy rush downs.

@dave95152 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't quite say it like that since Sora still has so much more room to grow. Imagine if Kameme learned all the noops and foops and could consistently pull them off. The whole fox wrecks sora is just false imo that many spout because the thing is noops and foops are easier on characters like fox and heavyweights and fastfallers. Characters like wolf are harder to loop but with IDJ you still can do it and floaties are probably the only characters that can't be effectively noop and fooped but if you combined the 2 it might still be possible because of the tipper hitstun mechanic sora has with his nair and fair.

Sora is high tier minimum and absolutely nothing can change my mind, especially since Kameme placed 2nd at Glitch Regen with amazing skill. Not only that, Sora was not 100% optimized at Glitch. Kameme missed a LOT of combos and kill confirms, yet still beat top players like Sonix and Jake. Sora is insane and Kameme is insane.

Remember guys, remember all the people who said Sora was bad and never let them live it down. Especially 2 days from now, when the people who called him trash suddenly say Sora’s great or top tier (Also love how this is the second coming of them being wrong about our boy. First it was “He’ll never be in the game” and now its “Sora’s bad”)
@anthonybarnes7062 жыл бұрын
As much as I love sora and I do think people underestimate him to death in this game, I think it has to be known that I doubt any of these top players had much matchup knowledge. That said, it took the best player in America to stop Kameme

so is a super major determined by overall player count, top player attendance, or a combination of the two? Until glitch infinite, I always was under the impression that it was attendance based only, but since Glitch, I've constantly heard the "top players didn't attend, it doesn't count" thing. Like when people were saying it didn't count that Ddee got 5th at Momocon because Leo, Sparg0, and Glutto weren't in attendance
@sinfinite75162 жыл бұрын
Both. Ie if a tournament had a lot of players but none of the top 10 it would be considered lower. It’s be like winning a tournament in Melee without Zain, Leffen, Hbox, Jmook, and IBDW. Some would say it wasn’t meaningful cause you didn’t fight the strongest characters. Though I think we should reward players for going to tournaments rather than skipping them and do it soley by player count imo.
@sonicff72 жыл бұрын
The way the PGR did it during Season 1 was purely on entrant count, which got some tourneys with high level talent discarded, such as Collision 2019 and Dreamhack Winter 2019. So, in Season 2, they had a separate point system for both entrant count, AND PGR members in attendance, and the higher of the two would be the decider. I think this was the best system. I think it has a potential issue, which is a lot of entrants but no top talent, like what Riptide 2022 was. 700 entrants but no one in the top 10-15 present. Back then though, the things with the highest entrants also had the best talent, so it never became a real issue. It's really different now post-quarantine, with a lot of top players missing tourneys due to burnout and so many events back to back. That's why you see people mentioning not enough top talent in attendance now a days. The PGR hasn't been doing the Tournament Tiering System since COVID though. Orionrank is the biggest algorithm to have one now, and I think their system is way too lenient. Hence why there's been discourse around what's a major or not recently. It does indeed value player skill over entrant count though.
