Dachigam National Park - Best Places to visit in Jammu & Kashmir

This video is an attempt to show the other side of Dachigam which means the scenetic aspect of the national park which is one of the most beautiful national parks in the world.
The video would had not been possible without the kind support of Nadeem Qadri & Nazir Malik Sahab
Dachigam is a national treasure nestled in the beautiful and troubled state of Kashmir. Spread over 140 sq. km., Dachigam is split into the Upper and Lower Dachigam sectors, both of which have seen better days. The magnificent hangul or Kashmir stag is the main mammal in the area and Dachigam is also home to the elusive snow leopard, marten, ibex, musk deer and other animals characteristic of the Himalayas. Birds like the Koklas pheasant and the monal pheasant inhabit the region. Srinagar's Harwan Reservoir is fed by the numerous streams in the Dachigam forests, making the park a crucial catchment area.
Visitors to Dachigam could choose to make Srinagar a base where there are a number of government and privately run hotels as well as houseboats catering to varying budgets. To experience Dachigam completely and stay overnight, there is some lodging available in both Upper as well as Lower Dachigam.

We have been there last year to upper reaches of Dachigam called Dagwan, which took us 10 hours from Pahelpora (Lower Dachigam) to Dagwan (UD). On the way we had an encounter with a young Black Bear, but lucky enough to escape. We stayed there for 6 days and 5 nights. It was an amazing experience of my life which I can never forget. Dachigam is really rare and a paradise in itself. The beautiful lush green mountains, mesmerizing waterfalls, the grasslands and the incredible species of birds and the Proud Hangul (Kashmiri Stag) are just the wonders of nature there, having no comparison in any corner of the world. I'm so lucky and proud that I saw a Male Hangul while returning. I'm very much thankful to the respected Nazir Malik Sahab who permitted us and shared some experiences for our Research Trip to be successful. Love My Kashmir, The Incredible Paradise on Earth .... 💓💓💓💓

I visited Dachigam when I was like 5-6 years old. One of my uncle was posted there as a vet doctor hence I got good look into the wild and wildlife there. I still have some faint memories of this place and suddenly they started coming back while I was watching this vlog. Thanks for bringing those old memories alive 👍
