On the contrary. Duster had all the advantages of hill climbing - half the weight and smaller tires. A smaller engine also gives the duster an advantage in a way, it tributes the lighter weight. You don’t need high power to climb, you need low weight and good traction.

Have had a Mitsubishi pajero, and a landcruiser… now have the duster for two years, although completely original… I have never had a better 4x4 that the Duster… it does exactly what is needs to do… as you say, weight is also a issue in off-road driving and the big diesels have a disadvantage there… Eyeballing for a new duster is the future with a lift of 3 to 5cm… 😎🤤

Echipat cu anvelope corespunzatoare terenului si un sofer cu experienta, Duster este o masina buna care isi face treaba suficient. Dar in opinia mea nu este un offroad-er in adevaratul sens al cuvantului pe care te poti baza in orice situatie, astfel ca incercarea de a-l pune pe podium langa masinile cu adevarat capabile este una gresita.

Duster este o masina de toata ziua, zi de zi. Nu acelasi lucru se poate spune despre cele doua Mitsubisi, care sunt niste monstri off-road. Poate ca Duster nu este in aceeasi categorie, dar o masina mult mai noua, versatila, cu finisaje mult superioare, care din cand in cand poate poate aborda trasee ca cel din filmare este, in opinia mea, de preferat.

Yes, it need a lift kit, but not yet, I got other stuff to solve until that. Maybe before winter I will install a lift kit. It’s hard to say right now for sure. 😁

First of all i must say that this video is very good, nice involvement to all who realized it in that rainy and cold weather. Well done Duster Cool Travels ! I got a stock Discovery 3, 2,7 L diesel, equiped with ATT tires and i have doubts about reaching that top with it. The reason is the 2.8 tones weight of this car without any load. I bet a Suzuki Jimny or Samurai, or maybe a Lada Niva equiped with narrow ATT tires at 1.7-1.8 bar pressure will have no issue to go up there in those terrain conditions. I think that going down from that mountain top was more tricky than upclimbing for the Mitsubishi's due to weight.

It's kind of funny that nobody thought the duster would make it to the top because the truth is unless all those trucks upgraded their gears they lost wheel torque by putting on those oversized tires not to mention the weight of the tires. That said , a 2 inch lift would go a LONG way towards helping the duster.

The duster kind of reminds me of a compass Trailhawk or something like that in terms of capability (I don't know much about them honestly). Does it not have a low range? Does it just have really low gearing? It looks like it's about 20 to 1 in the first gear. A lot of these non jeep off-road vehicles are about 30 to 1 anyway( high end jeeps are bonkers at 100:1 now) , so you're getting close even without a transfer case , 20:1 vs about 30:1. With the bigger tires the other vehicles in this video might be 25:1, who knows.

O daaa! Super videoclipul! E altceva cu MT-urile. Cum s-au comportat Nortec-urile la 1,5 bar? Eu nu le-am dus pe ale mele mai jos de 1,9 (nu a fost cazul, poate la toamna).

Ms ms. S-au comportat f bine. A fost o singură porțiune in care nu am reușit sa urcam și a trebuit sa intram intr-o baltă mare din care ne-am trolat, in rest, sunt f Ok. Am făcut și pana la urma dar asta e, se întâmpla. Și janta a fost îndoită un pic, deci nu aveam cum sa scăpăm fără pană 😅

Hârburile alea sunt preparate. Dacă veneau ca tine stock le făceai praf, oricum au motoarele varza. Ai anvelope OK dar pune-i neapărat un kit de înălțare (vezi Cosmin Iron Man kit pe KZbin ) te vei distra după toate cu toate antichitățile de renume Avantajul suprem al Duster ului fata de alte suv uri e greutatea 😎

Foarte bun testul confirma ca la banii dati pe Duster greu gasesti masini noi cu capacitati similare. De mentionat ca desi suna frumos 3.0V6 si 3.5V6 ai uitat sa pui un lucru important mai ales in "off road" si anume greutatea masinilor si ce tip de transmise au manuala/automata precum si daca au 4x4 permanent si diferential blocabil .

Salutare. S-a descurcat excelent. Dar nu ma surprinde deloc :) si eu am unul din 2011, 1.5 dci, 110hp, anvelope General Tyre Grabber AT3 si pe vreme uscata m-am urcat cu masina pe varful vladeasa (chiar pana la statia meteo) si si pe varful bihor, fara probleme. Atat vreau sa zic ca eu personal nu ma risc cu anvelopele astea in conditii extreme de noroi, ca nu pentru asta au fost facute. Dar in rest, 10/10

Muchas gracias... Se nota mucho la diferencia de motores pero va perfecto o acertado en carretera como en camino, el Shogun, parece un Tanque y necesitará una cisterna detrás para circular por la carretera, a la altura del Duster y hacer los mismos Kms. Un saludo.

Se aude demențial motorul ala de 3.5. Dacia, zici ca trage din greu, dar urca de n-ai treaba. Cred ca, daca ii pui o pereche de roti mai mari si mai late (fata de ce e in carte), plur putin ridicata de la sol si soft stage 2 bate orice mașină de teren. Bine, în afară de alea rock climbing.

Ehh.Duster e o masina buna, asta e cert. mai ales cumparata nou, dar sh deja ai multe alternative. Motorul dci 110hp e singurul care e suficient ca si putere insa tractiunea e relativ simpla , fara diferential etc. doar un lock electronic prezent pe multe modele de la nissan quash, mitsu outlander/asx pana la vitara nou, si toate modele suv de la renault. Deci nimic extraordinar. Anvelopele si experienta soferului adauga mult la succes. Plus ca devine discutabil si fiabilitatea la o folosire atata de intensa... dar felicitari pt video! Keep it up!

Pajero este o mașină veche și plină de rugină, poate să zică oricine ce dorește. Indiferent cât sudezi la ele, le vopsești, le dai cu ceară, teroson, tot degeaba. Rămân niște cazane pline de rugină la fel ca Nissan urile și toate japonezele. Am văzut Pajero și L200 vechi de 2 3 ani pline de rugină. Orezarii nu au vrut în 3 decenii să îmbunătățească calitatea materialelor folosite la sașiu și caroserie, nu sunt tratate absolut deloc

Cat despre regenerare in locul unde e un sant facut, ploaia il va adanci si mai tare deci adio regenerare. Daca nu avem taf-uri atunci avem masini 4x4. Daca nu sunt masini 4x4 atunci sunt atv-uri. Orice deal arata precum cocina unor porci. Probabil daca 80% din populatia Romaniei sunt rurali sigur sunt obisnuiti cu noroiul. Am si eu un 4x4, dar din respect nu fac transee. E bun de munca si pt drumuri accindentate. Iar daca distractia inseamna un deal ca o cocina e clar: au dreptate masonii cand vor sa scape de 70% din populatie (din pacate!!!)

Faceți niște comparații de te doare capul, total aiurea. Comparați Tigaia de dastăr cu alte mașini 4x4 ca să o scoateți câștigătoare. Ați comparat cu shogun în 4 uși care e lung, lat, greu. Normal că tigaia aia pare să se descurce mai bine, din moment ce are adversari mașini vechi de peste 20 de ani.
