I completely agree. Dad is teaching the kitten, not ignoring them. This is how they learn. Notice that dad doesn't leave and how he watches the kitten at the end to see if they will settle down. This is great cat behavior and excellent socialization. This kitten will grow up to be a confident, great cat because of this dad.

Alot of the Panthera types do move their tail around to entertain the littles ones if they are tired. See lions for example, having a siesta because it's too hot. And the cubs being active, moving their tail around will keep the cub busy so it doesnt wander off. Or keeping the pride from sleeping. I have seen some felines do it as well. But alot less, your average house cat will get insulted by it most of the time 😂.

Whenever he would beat his tail, I would pat my hand on the table, bed, etc. in imitation of him. We would do this back and forth until he got bored. 😊

Exactly!! That's funny. I've had both dogs and cats all my life and it IS funny how wagging tails between dogs and cats are completely opposite. Although with one exception, when your petting or playing with your cat and it raises their tail in the air or make it go into the shape of a question mark, that means they're happy and enjoy the petting.
