Wouldn't it be wiser to equalize the whole relationship thing with every member of the family? You don't need to be alone with your partner in order to "enjoy yourselves". You can be with your children as well. I don't understand why would people not be happy or enjoy being with their children too. I can't imagine myself leaving my children just to "have fun" alone. Parents and children aka the whole family has fun and enjoys together. Being with your children doesn't stop you from nourishing the relationship with your partner. You don't need to do something special in order to feel close to someone. In fact, take care to collectively nourish the whole family together. Putting focus on the partner makes it look like you are with the children just for the responsibility, not the emotions, love etc. In the family every member has to be put on equal line. That's what makes the family a family, in my opinion.

OMG...Breckenridge, I have such fond memories of that area with my husband and friends too, in fact we owned a property up in Grand Lake, CO just outside of the west city limits in the country of Grand Lake and had to drive into the Rocky Mountain National Park a little way to turn west on Western Road to get to our log cabin. We lost our 4 log cabins on our 15 acres in that East Troublesome Wildfire October 2020 and no insurance to cover the log cabins either; the insurance was just to costly; so I ended up selling the property. Terry and I were just devasted because we loved that area so much and had so many great times up there over the 15 years we owned that property. I wished I still had the property and the one cabin, I would let you wonderful friends stay up there for free, as my guest! It would have been a wonderful place for those precious two twins to experience and see the wildlife in their own natural surroundings.

Sometimes parents needs/deserves to take breaks from their children. But at the same time they still miss because they love them. But the same time it's good to have some no-kids time and time all by yourself and just enjoy and relax and have fun. You guys seemed to have an amazing time with each other and with your 2 friends. Good morning....we look forward every Wednesday morning to visit NC.....this morning we voted for our LGBTQ family and you’re a battleground state, unlike TN. It’s such a joy to realize how much easier it is now than even a few decades ago to raise children in a red state, which is where most of us live. You have what we didn’t have...mentors and modeling. Now, it’s been delayed by COVID, but empty nest due to college years is upon us. We haven’t been DINKs in decades. But you both make us remember our toddler son...and we chuckle at the fact that we instinctually know what to do. This is a fun episode....nice to see other adult too. Fun, but two septuagenarians remember that we were rather athletic too. What an educative video..we learned a lot this morning....but missed the kids...but they need grandma time too. I agree it is very important to get away alone I'm glad you guys were able to go on this wonderful trip. My brother goes to Montana on a regular basis but he drives to take in the countryside. The only down side to trips without the kids is how much you begin to miss the little ones. I hope you take more trips and take care of yourselves.

The best thing for altitude sickness is drinking lots and lots and lots of water and get plenty of sleep. A good way to try to prevent it is to make sure you get plenty of water and sleep before you go that high and give yourself a day to adjust
