I'am almost certainly that they have never perform this live. Some believe that this song are a anger song about Tarja's husband and manager. One of there best songs.

No Anette here, because she was not present then and had no idea about how Tuomas felt and why he is so angry about Tarja's man. Actually it looked like initially they planned to go without female vocalist. There is demo of the "Poet and the Pendulum" (also found in KZbin) sang by Marko. The same with Amaranth (demo is called reach), "Islander" was written by Marko ... And Tuomas never played this song live, because, as he said, he was no longer that man.

Tuomas airing his anger with Tarja's Husband, this and "Bye bye Beautiful" to me are rather childish. This song is simply Tuomas having a temper tantrum, pitiful and not very creative

I don't see how the songs aren't creative but they certainly came from a place of bad blood, as were Tarja's songs about Nightwish and Tuomas. Tarja even made one of those songs 11 years after she was fired. I can't blame anyone for being mad at Marcelo though, given that Marko said that they even caught him selling Nightwish tickets on the side, keeping the money for himself.

@@storkfletcher821 Marko also said he doesn't remember much about that time since he was in a drunken state for much of it. As for what went down, we don't know and as I have said there are 2 sides to every story. As for creative, I personally feel that personal drama should be left out of music and for me, the music was simply chaotic and cookie cutter. If you disagree that's fine, I just am not a fan of these songs

@@bridgetmccracken1381 bad idea as such, but when you feel betrayed or used or abused by the level you care the most (aka the band, the art, the members and not just one member being raised above, like the vocalist), then show me an individual human being that does not behave somewhat childishly or not thinking everything through or feels hurt and want to payback - usually mistakes will be made in haste and guided by the ill feelings instead of reasoning and once they are recorded and published, you cannot ever get them cancelled or erased.. ALSO this song is not only about the lyrics, the Music in itself as a Metal composition is actually Great, so..
